I've been getting some comments from people about how the fairy lore reminds them of the Tinkerbell movies, which apparently also have seasonal fairies! :0 I've never actually seen any of the Tinkerbell/Pixie Hollow movies so I had no idea 😭 While I didn't take any inspiration from Pixie Hollow, the autumn fairies having leaf wings were def inspired by the earth faerie from Neopets LOL

As a D&D veteran, I would like to say you got robin right in the first comic (at least lore wise), but he would have darkvision as another elven trait

Older editions of D&D had playable Fairies and Pixies through books like Savage Species (from 3rd edition). Dnd has always been a free form game allowing players to homebrew whatever they want though, assuming you know how the format for that edition.

A good backstory is like the anchor of a ship. Something to keep your character grounded in the rough times, something to be drugged up and exposed, and sometimes something that needs to be laid bare and untouched for a while to allow your character to go places.

That's a beautiful backstory and I got so absorbed I actually said "oh no..." out loud when Robin didn't come back....I do hope he was merely captured instead of killed and that Plumeria can find him again.

Ran a game where the party encountered a group of fairies who harassed the party trying to find one of their kidnaped fairy sister. The group eventually made a deal with the cadre of fairies to rescue their lost sister. Made for an interesting side quest.

The mix between western fantasy and eastern animation is probably the best thing to happen since D&D and Tolkienist fantasy came in fruition.

My DND character is a dwarve paladin. (Cuz I’m a kid so he small) and he’s dragon-born. He wears a red long sleeved shirt with a sheild design, brown leather pants, leather boots, leather fingerless gloves, and a hood made of cloth and is blue, kinda like the one Link wears in Breath of the Wild. He does fire magic eventually, but since he’s a paladin, he starts with just a sword and a sheild.

I play dnd online with my dad and his friends, they've been doing it for YEARS and I've only been doing it for a month. My character is a chaotic good paladin human, who is crazy about money and worships a god called Tymora the god of fortune and her symbol is a coin. And my characters name is Nadron Redz (I looked up dnd human names) and he joined the group to try and make a bit of money

I'm making a fairy character too. Her name is Sundew and she is based on Sundews in terms of coloring. I also imagine she has a little bubble that looks like a sundew glob on her forehead. She was a warlock who basically had a magic queen bee as a patron. I saw a thing saying fairies were born from natural occurrences so she was born from a Sundew eating a bee. Also, she takes care of bees. At one point, she found a flower favored by a verdant prince and gave it to her bees and when they used the pollen and stuff to make some honey and royal jelly, it gave the queen bee much greater power. This angered the verdant prince, so she was exiled along with her bees. She's going to be fun. I'm using her as a DMPC to help some story stuff and because I like to play with them more than tell the story.

I want this to be a full anime

I'm currently playing my second character in a long-term(coming up on 4 years now) campaign. The dm wanted to have fun with the characters and settings, allowing us to choose a monster from one of the books and he'd work it into a playable character race, or think of our own race. One of our party members, the only character left from the original party cause all others died, 'retired' cause the character sheet got lost in a move, or chose to become something else but still working in the party or story's favor. My current character is an awakened fennec fox, fur magically changed color to black gradating into purple, his eyes to lavender. This was all done by a circus owner who intended to use my character, Fedira Fenxer, as an attraction in his circus. Fedira eventually learned to pick the lock on his cage, eventually finding the circus owner's spell book. Learning to make a warlock pact. He managed to make a pact with the goddess of nature, yes warlock pacts can be made with good-aligned beings, not just demons or devils. Gods, fae, and angels are on the table. Out of kindness, the goddess increased his height to 3 feet as apposed to the normal 1 foot of a fennec and lengthened his lifespan from the normal 11 years to the average lifespan of a human. He escaped the circus, releasing the animals and burning it down as he went. A couple years later, he fell in love with robotics and using magic on robotics, finding himself enrolled at the Artificer's College of the nation he was in. In the last 2 years of the course, the artificer is assigned to a master. Travelling with them, using their skills and magic in the open world, and meeting new people. Masters often have their apprentices join a trade guild, usually the one the master is a member of. Fedira didn't join the trade guild his master was a member of, however. He chose one that had a constant flow of artifacts and magic items. He quickly rose to one of the head members, not the head, but only a couple steps under. One of the loading dock chiefs, the head of the artifact and magical item division, and one of the board members. All in one of the biggest trade guilds in his home nation. Very wealthy, he bought his own house in the capitol, started building a considerable personal library while also having full access to the Artificer's College library, even to sections students can't access until after graduation, and teaching there on occasion. At the estimated age of 26, he has attained success and accolades that many struggle to gain at twice that age. As well as fostering a very close friendship with one of the heads on international trade with the campaign's main country. Which lead him to be called for help repairing that country's queen's magical item, a first-generation golden dragon. Now he finds himself a dual-citizen, in a party he was unprepared to join and only recently re-organized his spells for a more combat role, his daughter-like familiar being unsummoned twice in 2 weeks after not being unsummoned for 6 years... and cut off from his wealth and resources in his home nation. He's doing fiiiine... almost died this last session, but he's fiiiine. (He hates all circuses and will release the animals and burn it down first chance he gets. He also has the teleportation circle for the college memorized so he COULD go back home when he has the chance.)

Watching this a year late and i have to say: Plumaria is a really good OC. I nearly cried because of her Backstory... I really hope she will find her sister and her lover.

The fairy backstory you made up actually reminds me a lot about another race in dnd; Eladrins. They also have seasonal variants but as an Eladrin you can freely change between seasons, although you don't have to. It's essentially more in tune with nature elves, they can't fly and they're medium size so 5 or 6 feet tall, but your lore reminded me of them.

Game: has orcs, elves, dragons, draugrs and other creatures. Emily: *I sleep* Also game: has fairies. Emily: *Real shit!*

idk if anyone has told you this yet or not, but fairies are an official playable race in 5e. you can find out how they work in the "Mordenkainen presents: the monsters of the multiverse" book. i get that it released after this video was made (this vid having been made in february 2021, and monsters of the multiverse being released may last year) but as of may of last year, fairies are an official playable dnd race

Hearing the "I wanted to play a fairy but there was nothing that let me do that" resonated with me. As I had that happened to me, except I wanted to play a cat that was also a ninja, like a regular household cat. And well, we started with the 3rd (not 3.5) of D&D and well, that flopped. But my dad brought up the GURPS system, which its entire thing was to allow you play about anything, in any world, at any level of realism and switch any of them at any time without having to relearn rules. To quote the book: "You can have your high fantasy Wizard transported to the Normandy landings of WW2" And well, yeah, and years later its become and still is my favorite system. I still make random characters using it, though I prefer 3rd edition, they change a little too much in 4th, thought the main stuff is the same.

I'm freakin scared of Fae, they charm us, wiggle their strange tiny fingers at us, and cast nasty spells and curses on us.
