Pre-pooing is a must for me! Like you said, any cheap product will do, as long as it happens before that shampoo hit my strands!!! Thanks for sharing sis ❤

My hair process has changed so much. I stopped detangling my hair before I wash it. I also don't detangle it with the deep conditioner either. After I wash everything out my hair is so manageable that I detangle it when I'm applying my leave in oils and butters. I never lose a lot of hair anymore doing this. I figured this process out because I started being a lazy natural the older I get. I think I might try this mixture when I do my deep conditioning. Your hair looks beautiful!

Me too I just leave my rinse out in and let it sit then detangle at that point

I am a fan of the prewash conditioner detangle routine. Inexpensive conditioner and pure Neem oil is what I use. I love your results. Your retention is amazing!

Big fan of yours and of detangling with a DIY conditioner + oil mixture. It protects my hair from dryness caused by any shampoo. The slip lasts throughout the wash day process. Also, washing in twists is a game changer for avoiding breakage. Thank you for your no nonsense approach to Black hair care. Stay authentic. Peace. Di ☮️💚

I think the Apple Cider Vinegar *might* be the best part of the recipe: ACV is such an effective detangler when mixed with hair conditioner.

I’m probably the only “nut job “ who detangles before shampooing with my actual shampoo! I spray each section to wet it down. Then apply a generous amount of shampoo. Twist up and move to next section. I keep those same sections throughout the wash, deep conditioning and styling process. …works for me❤

I envy your hair density! It’s so full and thick! Lol I say this as a self admitted lazy natural who doesn’t want to deal with my own hair that isn’t nearly as thick. You manage it well though. Keeping it stretched is the key to less headaches from dealing with tangles, shrinkage and breaking.

Great ideas! I've been using olive oil to detangle, but I will try adding some cheap conditioner in to for added slippage. Thanks for the tip.

So apple cider vinegar balances your hair and scalps pH. It’s acidic but because you’re also diluting it with water and a conditioner it’s not doing any harm, so you’re right on the money using Apple Cider Vinegar with your detangling lol

I don't use detangling mask on wash day. I just wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner and I'm done, because I'm lazy. Thanks for sharing your tips 😍😍😍😍

I'm lazy, but this does not look like too much. I detangle my hair like every two months. I know this is wrong, but it really coils back up (mainly middle back section). I was close to tears the other day because it is a brillo pad in this area. I went to Wal-Mart and got a butter cream by Pantene; I could not believe it took out the brillo feel. I can't complain because my hair in this area only does this (the rest does not). I have not did a pre-poo before but your setup looks simple. You are a year ahead of me in hair growth (my daughter is a year ahead also). It helps to have you guys ahead; it makes the journey easier. I look to try my mixture soon. Thanks.
