I have a lot of respect for you. The fact that you were able to step back and say that the bike is too much for you is incredible. A lot of guys would lie about why they sold it or they would try to keep riding it and end up getting hurt. Much respect.

I’m from Malaysia and it costs close to $30,000 to import a 2016/2017 FXDLS under grey import vehicle status after taxes.Price differences were so huge between the Low Riders that I ended up getting a 2017 FXDL instead 🤣

I used to look at screenshots of this bike before going to bed daydreaming of owning it throughout my last deployment. I found a 15 fxdb for 9k and even though it wasn’t the fxdls I went ahead a bought it since it was cheap and I could see if I would like the dynas. I fell in love with them. Now I plan on selling the fxdb and buying the fxdls after my upcoming deployment and building it similar to this one except with the fxrt fairing hard bags and maybe a custom paint job if I have money afterwards lmao

After hanging out at an independant bike shop this is similar to the Dyna I wanted to build after perusing the parts books. Shorter bars, rear engine mount, better forks, and a Frankenstein engine were my only changes. This bike squashed my dream, though. It proved that no matter what you throw at it, it is still just an HD Dyna with a much bigger investment in time and money. Old 120R might have been cool but no good ECM management was available at the time. My next choice was a short stroke big bore custom engine designed to rev high with all parts upgraded to deal with that. Either way, stupid huge money with unkown results. Hotrods are always a risk that things may not work out. If there are any other overlooked qualities of the machine as a whole, more power is sure to bring out those faults.

Thanks for your transparency and integrity. Most people on here are so fixated on being deified that they would’ve lied and said they got the bike dirt cheap and sold it for a fortune. It takes a lot to admit you took a hit. Your channel is one of the best for HD content, I’d say!

I spent 19k on my 2016 lowrider dyna S with a 117 big bore kit w only 5,126 miles on it. I think I got a deal on it. I wish I found a dyna S as hooked up as yours when I was looking.

What really would really turn it up a notch would be the Kraus Dynamoto inverted front end which has Ohlins internals. It's expensive. I had them on my Street Bob and it was awesome.

Would you ever stunts a 6-speed EFI again? Or would you only stick with the older now? I have a 08 Super Glide I'm thinking about setting up any advice would be appreciated thank you

I financed a buell the bill came out 21,000 and i had lots of problems with it i originally want a deuce now i own a dyna super glide i love it never gets old riding it for sure and that bike you sold 200 percent bad ass

Would you say the Low rider you have is way smoother than the street bob stock? Or do you think all the upgrades made a huge difference? I have the street bob and love it, but if I have to put 3-5k into it to get it to perform like a stock low rider I might get the low rider

I know this video is a couple years old now but you brought up some good points. There’s a 2016 Dyna LRS 117 SE upgrade w 8k on the odo, Thunderheader exhaust, progressive suspension, saddleman step up, 2” risers, high flo oil pump, and professionally tuned… he’s asking 15.5. Not a bad price and a heck of a Dyna but I settled on a stock 22 117 LRS w 4k miles for 18. Even tho the 2016 is a SICK bike I also felt that it was just too much engine for what I need and would require maintenance than I wanted to get into. Of course the 22 has about 3k in some nice rider accessories and upgrades that I’d of done so I’m saving on that but stock engine and exhaust, which I’m totally cool with. The bike comes from the factory with all that I need so I’m happy. I actually think I got a good price and probably saved a few grand, but this is the most I’ve spent on a bike and I’m sure I won’t get what I paid for if and when I sell it. I figure if I ride it a few years and sell it for 15 I basically rented it. I’m not in the business of flipping bikes and they say you’ll never get back what you dump into it. Cheers.

I think you made the right choice for sure. The new softail platform handles way better than the dynas (and no potential dyna wobble). Either one would be a blast, no doubt. 💯🤙

Paid $30,000 CDN for a 2017 BMW R1200GS Rallye. Still have it. Most I've paid by almost double...... But I had the previous gen R1200GS and loved it, so went overboard replacing it.

I have the same “mod” on my dual brake lines when I went +2. Bending them down is ugly but cheap

A 117 kit, and 18 rear 21 front with some white walls and upgraded mounts and engine stabilizer and it would have been one epic unit

Stepped out of my cheap Harley realm just spend almost 6k on a used Yamaha xsr900! Things an absolute fucking blaster lmao definitely my most expensive cash purchase. But something about these lowrider dyna variants just do it for me more than the new softail low rider. Sick bike tho man sure you had fun while it lasted!

Dyna LRS is my dream bike, but am i too small for it? im 5'7... ^^ Im riding an iron 883 atm, but european irons is 29inch in seat height... And ive seen american irons are lowered originally?

That is a cool looking and sounding bike, except for the rear fender. I like the full rear fender, but the damage to the paint makes me sad. The most I paid for a bike was $15,000 for my 2007 FLHR in February of 2008 with 116 miles. I still have it.

I paid $14.5k for a '05 FLHTC in 2006 and owned it till 12/19 when I bought a beautiful mysterious red sunglow 2014 Street glide special for a steal at $10,500. Both bikes have been awesome.

I bought it a 2017 dyna street bob with 6000 miles on it from a Harley Davidson dealer for 14900 then they tacked in 5000 dollars worth of warranty wheel and tire protection, theft , Gap. They got me good . So I paid 20 grand for a bike not even as good as yours and mine was bone stock.No upgrades . Live and learn.

I paid 28K for my 19 RGS and have about 10k in parts and don't regret a fu*king thing. Once you get rid of stock suspension you won't regret a thing

Haha, my 2019 FLHXS stickered at $30k, and with my 2016 Vaquero trade-in, it was still like $20k out the door. I got super lucky in that my wife paid for it, so I am just refilling her bank account now :)
