This is basically my story with it. Me: I think I will watch this anime because Marin is hot. *12 episodes later* Me: This is now one of my favorite things.

Wholesome romances fill me with existential dread. Statiscally there is a girl out there like Marin, however there is 99% chance I will not find her. But that 1%, that is hell. There is confort on things that are bleak and hopeless, because of the certainty there is nothing that can be done about it. But that 1%, that is a carrot in the stick. You either feel coward for never trying or like an idiot for wasting so much effort into a lost cause. A life of regrets is way scarrier than masked man stabbing teenagers.

I really did enjoy this show, but I absolutely hate the discussion around it because one guy posted "these anime are for men who get no bitches and stack no paper" as a meme, and now every wise-ass, shonen-obsessed mf will tell you it's trash because it's a SOL romcom.

Even though it sometimes has an uncanny valley feel, I love rotorscoping and that the animators used it for some scenes.

I hate it when people say Gojo is a bad/boring protagonist, he is legit great character, yet people refuse to see it.

Women are scarier than any horror movie

Gojo was a character who, at first, I did think would end up as your average male self-insert that I absolutely hate. As I watched however, he very much grew on me. His character archetype was not just a generalization or label that became occasionally relevant, but one that was his actual character. I especially enjoyed the scenes where he broke through his general shyness and anxiety because of the passion he had for the work he was doing in that moment; really helped sell me on him being an actual character I could enjoy watching and not a boring self-insert with flimsy to no character at all.

Watching Sono Bisque basically brought back the wholesome and fun memories during my cosplay days. All the makeup and wig techniques just made me laugh because it would have been REALLY HELPFUL to know those info 10 years ago as a noob. I don't know how Gojo got a lot of weird OC hate. I always saw the series depicting both Gojo's and Marin's perspectives.

"NPCs keep moving! This is a Schizo neighborhood!" That should be the tag line for this channel and its subscribers.

The moment from the manga that sticks out the most is when Marin talks about Slippery Girls (the word used is more akin to "Slimy" IIRC) and she talks about how the "love--formed reverse r(a)pe" scene was so good she cried. I'm still not entirely sure about what "love-formed reverse ra(p)e" is. (Also, someone needs to haul you to Japanese pronunciation boot camp-- if I hear "tsun-there" one more time..)

I really enjoy My Dress Up Darling, the characters are very endearing and I love their dynamic.

I really think most erotic manga and anime really fall short because apart from showing booba and fulfilling a fantasy, there's usually not much "meat" in their stories, that's why i don't bother and prefer to read eroges, since at least those usually have more content than just boobs. So thanks to Dress up Darling for remembering that an ecchi or "fanservice" manga is more than just boobs.

It’s a great series and I love my little war criminal And I would love to see you do a review on all quiet on the western front I’ve read the book and watched all the films and I liked all 3 but in my opinion the newest one that just released was subpar compared to the other 2 I think a big flaw in it is it kindve missed the meaning of the book and other films It had gorgeous horrifying battles that truly showed the absolute hell of ww1 and the conditions soldiers were in and it keeps the core anti war Though it was lacking in that aspect as well because while the battles were horrifying to me it didn’t have the same gut punch as the others A main reason I have that issue is the point of the book is it’s a recollection of the authors memories of serving in the war and he makes it a point that when he served in the trenches the political matters didn’t matter to him since it did nothing for him on the front so he never included it He was also never concerned with the actions of the generals or higher ups since he was merely standered infantry and merely waited for the order to go over the top A scene from the 1970 film shows that perfectly when Paul returns home for the first time in months and he goes drinking with his father and they begin to talk about the grand military strategy that should occur while Paul merely stares at it with disinterest The scene also shows that Paul knows they are talking utter crap and they don’t know what they’re talking about but it shows that he simply doesn’t care that’s not his concern since he’s a soldier So in the new film when it shows the politicians and generals talking about surrender to the entente and military actions by Hindenburg it removes that sense that your a soldier following Paul in the trenches since you know the bigger picture and stakes of the battles Another thing was it showed what time all this took place Your never given exact years or dates except the beginning and the end because that’s all you need to know It makes the war appear to be a slog where each day is the same as before and only changes by getting worse and worse so by adding the dates and politicians pulls you out of it again so your not a soldier nexts to Paul and the others Another problem I had with the new film is you don’t get the same sense of care for the group of soldiers like you did with the other versions since they didn’t focus on them to much and you don’t get to know the characters all that well except for Paul and Katz but not the same extent as the other soldiers and when one dies your supposed to feel bad he died but you don’t because you hardly know him Again a decent film but it was missing the core that made the others so amazing I think the director went and focused to much on war being absolute hell and not the people fighting it Just my opinion I could be dead wrong but thanks anyway if you read this thing Also can’t wait for 100k!
