ouch i still have 10 bars. recently I ran out in neighborhood but the charger was 1300 Watts and tripping my conventional 1600 Watt inverter

How many miles do you get of range? Someone gifted me a 2011 leaf with 2 bars and it reportedly has about 15 miles of range. Only 55k miles where my 2015 has 99k miles and 60 mile range (8 bars).

In a pinch the ground neutral bond can be made with a jumper inside the female plug from ground side to neutral side. Don’t know how safe or legal it is, but my Nissan will charge that way, so does my tesla

I thought about that but didn’t want to be the one who said it. Ha ha I think it would work so long as there was not a gfci breaker up stream.

@@BeeneEnergy yeah liability and all, they make a plug for generators that you plug into one side of the outlet and then use the other, somehow that’s ok? But they come with generators now

@@BeeneEnergy I mean my I’ve been doing it since day one with the generator and leaf, got caught out without power and used aluminum foil to wrap around the ground and nuetral right on the male plug, sketchy yeah, but what do you do when your beater leaf poops out 20miles from home in the wilderness?

@@travishodges5179 I believe the rule is the ground and neutral should be bonded at the power source. So with a generator it makes sense to bond there. If the generator is feeding a breaker panel that has it bonded though then it has to be unbounded at the generator so no current is flowing on the ground wire. So it could be they leave it not bonded at the generator in case we want to feed a bonded breaker panel. But then the generator is floating until we try to use gfci outlets or plug in an ev charger and notice it’s not bonded :).
