100% agree. I am a victim of SA as well. And the dude walked because the jury didn't want to take it to supreme judicial court. So it got dismissed. Despite him doing it to a 15 year old boy that year before me. All he got from that case was that he had to take some classes and register as a sex offender. (Despite his parents literally catching him in the act) Wow such a great job those "don't sexually assault someone again" classes did, huh? (sarcasm) A year in the court wasted just for it to go nowhere. So hearing these people make false accusations really pisses me off. I agree he didn't do enough. She deserved worse.

Hardly just his reputation but also his current and future freedom, potentially rights and potentially loss of future earnings on top of the reputation damage and social stigma. False accusations like that can bleed into every aspect of your life, they can completely destroy your life. False accusers are using a different type of violence than physical but it should be viewed as just as bad and penalties to reflect that. Psychological, financial, and social damage can be a lot harder to overcome than a physical injury. She should be happy he didn’t actually pummel her face when someone less disciplined might have done just that in anger.

@@jmfeathersword oh yeah, absolutely, her being outed on Facebook is something you can easily get away from, and she did. But what she accused him of doing might’ve actually killed him. There are some inmates in prison who target other inmates if they committed crimes like this, and he could’ve been sent to jail if her plan had worked. It actually wasn’t fair game at the end of it, he still didn’t get all the retribution he deserved.

Years ago i was in a program that helped people get jobs (interview training and stuff like that) and there was a woman there that invited me and another male on a trip with some of her female friends and one of the friends sister. I never went on the trip but the next time i texted her she was trying to get me to do something by accusing me of statutory grape. I ended it by going to the person who was running the program and showed the text messages and they got the police involved. He didn't even put up any kind of fight when the wife demanded full custody, the house, and other stuff. He just agreed with everything she asked. I agree with you that this seems like suicidal behaviour. @@Morpheusdarkson You are right, you are absolutely right. It is a terrible, terrible thing to do, to falsely accuse someone of SA. It has horrendous consequences for the accused. Loss of reputation is not just loss of standing in society(although that's plenty bad enough, what with disgust and hostility pouring in from all sides), but it also encompasses loss of job, housing, family, legal action. Strips a person of everything that makes them who they are. I am not trying to underestimate that. I am only trying to point out, that victims of SA also go through ALL of that social stuff, In Addition to being violently physically and sexually injured, loss of modesty and personal dignity. I understand the OP's sentiments, and agree with the premise wholeheartedly, I just want to point out that a statement like that "If there is something worse than raping, it is falsely accuse someone of raping" can be very easily misused. I've seen this story elsewhere and for some reason none of the KZfaqrs seem to catch on to that little nugget as if a sexual relationship between 16 year old and 13 year old isn't gross. It's not necessarily illegal depending on where you live, but it would b e in a lot of places.
@rjgaynor8

@@carlrood4457 we have that situation going on with my cousins kid. The daughter is 12 and the boy is 14. The parents originally thought it was the guy only to find out that their daughter was the one who started everything. Their daughter has lied to everyone about the relationship. She claimed they were just friends and told his parent that her parents were ok with it. Mind you she is only 12 and had this boy wrapped around her finger. They haven’t had sex yet as far as anyone can tell but it scares me. I have a 3 year old daughter and this is not something I would ever want to deal with. The parents only realized something was off when their daughter started getting new very expensive electronics that they didn’t buy her. Most of my family and extended family gives expensive gifts, so stuff like that would have been bought by her parents. Gift giving with us is almost humble bragging. Who can make the most elaborate gift for others. They don’t do store bought anything for birthdays or Christmas. My wife and I don’t do that but we also avoid giving my extended family expensive gifts. No matter how much thought we put into it, it we would look like we are flaunting our wealth.

Yeah, totally gross. I bet, if it was the other way round, a thirteen year boy dating a 16 year old girl, would be considered a rockstar. Two kids having a relationship isn't gross, the cousin thing a bit much but not illegal.

The story about the Husband cheating with his cusion is a bit concerning. The cousin is dead and we don't know for sure that Husband is cheating on his wife since we don't have another perspective. Am just saying that this could potentially be the Husband wanting to divorce his wife and using his dead cusion as an excuse to have the wife Initiate the action. Now idk who would do that, but that’s what my personal thoughts are since we only have the Husband perspective and no one else to confirm if it's true.

Plus the wife immediately wanting everything kind of tell us what their marriage was like, if he was truly happy, the cousin would never have had a chance (especially 4 years into the relationship). I also could be reading into it too much... But it just feels fishy.

I do wonder about the second story. Op said that the husbands relationship with his cousin started when he was 16 and she was 13, and ended when he started dating op. What are the odds that the cousin blackmailed him into resuming relations with that fact? I mean it would only take 2 years of their initial relationship for the dude to be 18 and the cousin to be 15. Could explain a lot about his behavior, but I guess we wont ever know

I lived in my car for five years while holding down an IT job. I don't know why anyone would think that makes you extra untrustworthy. You have A LOT to lose when you're living like that and you're VERY vulnerable. You're basically on your absolute best behaviour at all times and you still get regular visits from cops.

I feel like if my wife wanted to dance with the father of her late husband I would be happy. It is a nice gesture towards both the husbands parents and himself. Its unreasonable to demand she acts like past never happened. This would be like her final goodbye's to him before she moves on her life with me its bittersweet and I am completely supporting it.

Story 2: While I believe in forgiving and second chances, take it from someone who cheated - this behavior is 99% NOT a "one and done" type thing. Meaning, they will cheat again if given the opportunity. I did. I was a piece of trash. Scratch that, trash has purpose. I was a despicable person who got what he deserved. While I applaud the guys honesty, sadly I do believe he would repeat this behavior if a similar (or other) situation presented itself. Best advice I can give is to leave guys like me where we belong, and find someone with integrity and an honest heart.
