At that point he was just collecting checks and he was gun shy too, wouldn’t let his hands go. But it happens to the best of them, look at Ali towards end of his career, Mike Tyson to some degree. Atleast Shane was still fighting big names to the end almost, but they were just using Mosley name to pad their record at that point….including pac, mayweather, canelo etc…but light weight Shane was a destroyer, his twitch reflexes and blazing combos were somethin to behold. Was always one of my favorites, perfect boxer puncher combo in his prime.

Sugar Shane is an awesome guy. I met him when I was a ten-year-old kid along with my cousin and mother at Knott's Berry Farm. The year was 2003. He had just beat Oscar de la Hoya that Fall and my cousin who was in his teens recognized him and asked him for a picture. He was with his wife - she looked Asian - and he was getting ready to get in line for the Xcelarator. He graciously put his arms around my cousin and me and my mother snapped the photo on her one-time-use camera. I was impressed that he was truly for the people. He could have easily walked away.

After that fight I remember Larry the HBO commentator yell "we love you SHANE MOSLEY!" People looked at it as revenge for Cotto. Margarito was definitely doing something dirty in that fight and Cotto never fully recovered. Cotto had ❤ to stand and take that punishment, but it broke him down in the end.

I remember the 2nd Cotto vs Margarito fight and the same thing was starting to happen Margarito started gaining the edge and I think he eventually would’ve stopped Cotto, but the ref stopped the fight prematurely when Margarito took a few punches. Bad stoppage guess they wanted Cotto to have revenge win from the 1st fight
