Cathrin, you are sooooo amazing, girl! 🤩🤩🤩 I started my KZfaq channel three months ago and followed your advice (that you share so generously!) on creating thumbnails, video editing, analysing stats etc.. I reached 100 subs yesterday which is such a huge milestone for me!! My goal was to reach 100 subs by the end of 2020 so I’m really excited that I was able to reach it a bit sooner than planned! I’m buying a Canon M50 this week (Just waiting for Black Friday sales) to take my YT channel to the next level. Keep going girl, you inspire so many of us with your openness, authenticity, positivity and pure awesomeness! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I can only imagine HOW high the audience retention must be on your videos because I have not felt compelled to click out in a totality of 26 minutes - very few KZfaqrs manage to do that, at least for me. That in itself teaches me so much about KZfaq and the way it works beyond factors you can control. Thank you so much for this video - it was an actual gold mine. Will now go back and listen again to make notes haha

Good job with this Cathrin! I just made a video on my channel too about a similar topic...I think it's so important to help creators of all sizes and we need more of this kind of honest behind-the-scenes style video to show people how it's done. Creativity and innovation can be intimidating subjects but they don't have to be if we don't overthink it or try too hard. I love this quote: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” -Picasso.

*The walk through was helpful in choosing the keywords by typing and seeing the auto populate. I usually go incognito to avoid it being recommended on my search history and video views (keeps it less specific to me)*

I do the same thing, but I’m hesitant to target 🎯 terms with a high search volume because they will be competitive. What do you think?

@@AdamMellor1 I use VIDIQ and it tells you the competition. I've found some moderate volume keywords with low volume competition and am doing well in search for them! I also think making similar videos within that search term starts to build some "authority" and will yield results. I've found it just seems to take a few weeks.

Thanks, u make a lot of sense. I found that in my videos, having any kind of TEXT on my Thumbnail does not help and sometimes makes it worse.

@@NeverErase oh duh sorry lol, pretty much how I feel. Large creators have lots of videos and we only have a few to gather data from. I think that is why the KZfaq analytics can seem not very helpful at the beginning, because KZfaq doesn’t have a lot of data to give us.

Cathrin, you have no idea how helpful your videos have been. I'm using Tubebuddy and your keyword strategy on my new channel and I'm ALREADY ranking #1 for certain search terms, on the first page for several others. I've already picked up nearly 60 subs, shooting for 250 before the year is over and my channel has only been live 2 weeks. It's really amazing to be getting started (finally) and feeling like I have traction right out of the box so thank you! :)

I’m sure you probably already know about this but just an idiots outsider perspective... you should do your monthly analytics video as a live stream. That way you can still get the views that you already get but you can also take live questions via super chats from your community. It give you 2 great advantages. 1. Most importantly you’d be interacting live with your viewers. 1. You’ll be bringing in extra income from the super chats as people would have to pay to ask you questions. And before you say it... YES ... you deserve that extra pay for all of the amazing helpful content you are sharing. You are by far the BEST most knowledgeable person I have seen doing content related to how to start up in the you tube space. I know... I know... some random dude who only has 36 subscribers probably shouldn’t be recommending anything to you, but I just feel like as much as you know.. maybe you don’t know about this and I think it will only enhance your community. Anyway keep up the great work!

Hey Cathrin! If tags don't matter, do you think ranking in search relies almost entirely on the title and description now?

in terms of keywords, your title, description, and what's included in your video is what the algorithm is going to look at! but there are a lot of other factors that they take into consideration when it comes to what videos rank higher or lower in search

always have a running list of ideas! whenever something pops in your head, write it down! it's seriously so helpful for when you aren't feeling inspired
