My SSA was fundamentally due to a deep brokenness over desperation in the connection I needed from my father. The more I can be secure in my own masculinity and can internalize my value as a man, the less the SSA affects me.

according to joseph nicolosi it takes a mother and a father to create the homosexual dynamic in the child. overinvolved domineering controlling emotionally malatuned mother teaches the boy to dissassociate either from over stimulation or emotional inattentiveness.

@@flamingrobin5957 Yes I've thoroughly read Nicolosi. That doesn't detract from my point, as the effect of the mother is to further drive a wedge between the boy and his identification with the father and other boys.

I understand the situation and begin to forgive my father for not involving much in my growing up as a mandatory mentor. I hope focusing on physical health and fitness could help me get away from the temptation more. Thanks for your sharing bro.

@@PhucDoprofile Physical activity can get you so far, but it's really important to remember the root of the issue. SSA is really an identity crisis. We couldn't find our belonging with the men in our life. Rejection after rejection we begin to believe there is something inherently wrong with us; not fully a man. As Christians, we can heal that wound by going right to the core of our real identity: I am a man, a son of God made in his image and likeness, and it is His love alone that gives value to my humanity, and to my manhood. Nobody, not even myself, can give that or take that away from me. The more we believe that, the more secure we will be in not only our masculinity, but as a whole person.

@@epistemophiliac5334 it hurts so much when you are alienated from the community as you are different from them. We don't have the same plan as they have an ideal aim in life which is marriage and having kids. Social Anxiety comes unexpectedly when SO deliberately pokes about it. What will you do ?

The good Lord has brought me and my husband a same sex attracted neighbor. By providence I have been cooking him dinner once a week and showing him Christs love. I don’t know if he knows if I am a Christian but I pray for him as I make the food. We never know how our Lord is using us to reach the suffering. May the good Lord be with you all ❤

For me it is fundamentally different in that I am a woman who has been ssa since as far back as I remember. I was abused and molested multiple times by multiple men and one older teen female… I was raised in a Christian home and knew my ssa was “evil” and wrong. Long story short is that being a tomboy, oldest, and ssa I did not feel even slightly feminine. Was utterly uncomfortable pretending to be feminine in anyway until my late teens or early adult and it was and has continued to be only minimally feminine. I forced myself to date guys at first which was physically repulsive and would make me feel trapped and suffocating. Then I met my husband, there was always something different about him than any other man I have ever met. I think it was his kindness, gentleness, and that he is slow to anger. He didn’t scare me, in fact he intrigued me, just not sexually. However I was desperate to work on changing my heart according to numerous books and articles I had found about recovering from homosexuality. Ironically enough eventually I did fall in love with him, sexually is was more complicated, but I love my husband more than any living person. Unfortunately my DH is also a broken human and has been addicted/compulsive user of porn and voyeuristic photography for mb. Which has further complicated our already complicated sexual connection. The draw that he describes in the beginning sounds similar to how I feel for my husband, when I feel safe enough to feel vulnerable, it feels healthy. Then again our emotions don’t always tell us the truth. More prayers and patience is needed❤

yes I believe it is... look to the verse that says if your hand causes you to sin cut it off. Think of it like fornication with your own body

this video doesn't seem to be in the spirit of st. pope john paul ii's teaching.......but then again, i've read that the center he found has seriously deviated from his teachings and of Sacred Scripture.

This is why the LGBT community ridicules the Church for promoting "ex-gays." Andrew Comiskey is a bs artist. He's mastered the art of telling religious people *exactly* what they want to hear. His commentary is overly complex and generalized, and he answers half of the questions by repeating the last part of the question, a classic "sales tactic." There's a reason he's talking around the issue, instead of giving any specifics...
