Hello Sara ❤ They do say that you are what you eat and taking a look around its obvious that a poor diet of processed and sugar laced food is fuelling an epidemic of ill health in general and making existing health conditions worse. I guess the key is to go back to learning how to cook from scratch with ingredients that are fresh and nutritious, the Mediterranean diet being a case in point. Nothing has to be elaborate just being able to be sat at nature's table of abundance is food for the soul. I always incorporate green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, strawberries and oranges as they hold powerful anti inflammatory properties. I find using a blender an excellent way to make smoothies and soups which are both good for when you are not really up to eating. Dark chocolate is also great as it is low in sugar but loaded with anti oxidants. I love the 75% cocoa which is surprisingly not too bitter. Have you tried putting a couple of teaspoons of cocoa powder into a pan of heated oat milk and pouring into a mug for a comforting drink for bedtime?! Never stop believing in yourself Sara and know that you have achieved so much and are at the cusp of even greater things..❤

Yes agree with you so much! I need to get back to the fresh greens. I used to do green smoothies every day and got so sick of them, just the thought makes me want to gag. I have not tied cocoa powder in oat milk that is a great idea!! Thank you. I was going to post a picture of one of my quinoa bowls and then found out KZfaq does let you post pictures in comments lol. Oh well it wasn’t a pretty picture but it showed how easy it is to throw it all together. I just need to make sure I change the flavor enough so I don’t get sick of it like I did the smoothies. Thanks for your comment!

Good on you Sara! Changing our diets to be healthier is such a great thing to do! I eat whole food plant based and feel it really helps my MS symptoms and to keep me healthy. The things that all the “MS diets” have in common is that they focus on real whole foods , reduce processed and inflammatory foods, and increase our intake of healthy nutrients. I know it is challenging at first but keep with it. There are over 20,000 kinds of edible plants out there! For eating at restaurants, try this tip. Look at the sides offered with the entrees. You can ask for a meal made from them. For instance, I had a lovely meal recently made of lentils, broccoli, and potatoes. They were are sides from other dishes.

Wow that’s such good advice, thank you! I will try that next time I go out to eat. With my last seizure I have been having a hard time staying focused on diet, I don’t do well when I am exhausted. Thank you for the recommendation. I definitely feel better when I am eating healthy!

Wow Sara!! As a nurse first thing I noticed watching your videos is the difference in your voice with your speech a and energy. You look fabulous and seem healthier! Cheers! I am working on using the Wahl’s protocol which I haven’t been dedicated 100% but the difference in my symptoms is stunning! Supplements, fruits, veggies, nuts, seaweed (yuck), organ meats I haven’t done but eating sardines tuna & fish has changed my life to help feed mitochondria. Healthy foods have decreased inflammation increasing my functioning! Good to see your progress and hear it in you!! Keep it up 🙌🏼.

Sara- you look great! I think the Mediterranean is a great idea. I have also cut out dairy and really try to eat healthy most of the time. Nuts, smoothies, chia seeds, leafy greens, berries, avocado toast are part of my everyday. I also really try to do no added sugar, but sometimes I cheat. I've also been overwhelmed re; the best diet for MS> I looked into the Wahl's, however, I can't do all that. I just try to do the best I can. I do think I feel better eating more plant based. I really try and listen to my body. So glad you are feeling better and back at it! It's all we can do is just keep moving forward. You are a real inspiration:) love from Colo

Thank you so much. I have to get smoothies back in. I just really hate them right now. I was on Wahls for almost a year and now so sick of smoothies!!! It did not help me at all and I lost a lot of weight and almost was like starving myself but I was not trying to, it was just going right through me. I needed some sustenance. It says your body will get used to it, but mine never did, it was just not for me either.

Yes so for Mediterranean has been great. I get sick of stuff really easy so I have to be aware of that when making quinoa bowls or having the same thing too often. I tried Whals. It was not for me.

Sara- forgot to share this tonic I make for myself & husband I drink everyday. It's non-inflammatory. Coconut water, fresh peeled ginger, 1 juice of a blood orange, 1 juiced lemon & a dash of cayenne pepper to taste. Mix all in blender. You'll know if you put too much ginger in- just add more coconut water. Fresh ginger in water or hot tea soothes the stomach. Hope it helps.
