My Favorite Compression Socks for Long Nursing Shifts

In this video I share my favorite brand of compression socks for long nursing shifts. I have been using these compression socks for many years while working as a registered nurse and now as a nurse practitioner and these are by far the best I've tried. 12 hour nursing shifts can be so tiring and cause significant aching and swelling in the legs. These compression socks help reduce or even eliminate that pain and swelling even after a long 12 hour nursing shift.
Not only are these compression socks great for long nursing shifts, but they are also great for running, or swelling or aching in the legs during pregnancy or postpartum. I have used these compression socks for all of these reasons and they work wonderfully. I have tried several other kinds and these compression socks maintain their elasticity, their vibrant colors, and their quality. They are available at running stores and on Amazon (link down below). I bought my compression socks (shown in this video) in 2017 and 2018 and they are still in great condition after much wearing and many washes. They are definitely worth the extra money compared to cheaper ones. I hope these compression socks give you as much relief of aching and swelling after those long nursing shifts as they do for me.
I am a nurse practitioner and I work long 10 and 12 hour shifts in the emergency room. I no longer have aching legs at the end of my nursing shifts using these compression socks. I highly recommend this brand of compression socks. I worked many years as a registered nurse (RN) in the emergency room, then continued working in the emergency room after becoming a nurse practitioner (NP). I also did travel nursing as an ER nurse. I went to a running store in Toronto in search of some compression socks. They didn't have much but the lady went and rummaged through some old stock in the back and gave me those exact orange ones for $15 (down from $50-70). They fit well and I am pretty sure they are my size. They feel really good. I work in retail and I am always struggling to finish shifts and even make it to lunch. Hi there just wanna say thank you for what u guys do from one professional worker to another and to all others across the world Female and male Nurse..I had a serious Truck and Trailer accident..When i awake i thought i had died and gone heaven this Nurse woke me up..as weeks pass by... she said too me put these Socks on... it will help you with the blood flow and stop swelling as you said.. and shin splints and Cramp in the Calves and it helps walking the hard floors in the hospital she was a nice nurse..i told her but those are only for women..She laughs..No sir it's for everyone ..ow ok loll..So once again Thank you for what u do and most def Support u guys in the Hospital if it wasn't for u nurse's Female or male taking care of us and helping us back too health..i guess i wouldn't be back at Ready status for work again..take care and keep up the awesome work u do..oww and ummm i still have those Socks loll sssh my fellow truckers will laugh loll Be Safe..

That nurse was right, compression socks are actually a great idea for truck drivers because they are often sitting a long time and the socks help prevent blood clots. Any time I’m on a long road trip or on a plane for hours I wear them. So glad to hear you are doing better after your accident. That must’ve been pretty scary to go through. That compression socks looks really good quality. Nothing like the hospital ones. I used them too on long day shifts, when on adult units. Very helpful. Just subscribed 💞

Jillian Hearn Lally I haven’t actually! These CEPs have been pretty solid for me so I haven’t needed to try out other brands lately. I think I remember seeing bombas on shark tank though! They look nice and comfortable. Maybe even thinner? Probably great for summer.

Do you ever wear them at night? I am finding When I wake up in the morning it is hard to walk my feet and lower legs are stiff and sore, as I get going in the morning they are fine during the day

No, compression is actually not recommended at night. Have you talked to your doctor about the morning soreness/stiffness?
