Period - 7th century to 11th century
History - Developed out of the Roman Spatha by the Merovingian Franks in the 6th Century, and carried by traders all over Northern Europe.
Arming Sword:
Manufacturer: Windlass, Battlecry Acre Crusader Broadsword
Blade - 32 ¾ inches of 1065 carbon steel
OAL - 39 ¼ inches
Period - 11th century to 16th century
History - Classic medieval knight’s sword. Developed in France.
Long Sword:
Manufacturer: Warrior Replicas The Crecy Medieval War Sword
Blade - 35 1/2 inches of 1065/1095 carbon steel
OAL -45 ½ inches
Period - 14th century to 16th century
History - Hand and a half knight’s sword14th to 16th centuries
Back Sword:
Manufacturer: Cold Steel, The English back Sword
Blade - 32 inches of 1055 carbon steel
OAL -38 ½ inches
Guard - full-basket
Period - 15th century to 18th century
History - Similar to Scottish broad sword, but only single-edge blade.
