The last few blogs have felt full of promotions. It may be as you say the official ad lasts only 7 minutes, however the preceding 20 minutes seem a part of it, making the ad feel like half the video. Other commenters have mentioned the same thing so it seems you have got content:ad ratio out of balance. Glad you addressed it in some way and are going to endeavour to be more transparent in the future.

Josie, this is not just directed to you but to all watching. We do not have the power to manifest anything. No matter how much I want something, it’s not going to make it come to pass… yes we can dream, and hope but that is not in itself going to make it magically appear. We are not that powerful. However if we rely on God, He will bring into our lives what is best for us. We are just finite beings, in this earth for a small period of time, but He is an infinite being, and is a god, good Father💕

Humble request Josie, this year, could your sponsored segments be shorter? We are always happy to support you as a community, although I admit there were times when I watched several vlogs by influencers and I felt a bit overwhelmed by the long segments showcasing products. Please don't get me wrong, many of the products they showed were lovely, it just felt like when you go visit your friend and they spend most of their time with you selling wares rather than catching up. I miss the days when their vlogs were the main thing, with a few products here and there; it feels nowadays like the products are the main thing, with a little vlogging in between.

The immune tea spices is what we use making Indian tea. My mum used to grind the spices together and jar them up. Then add a teaspoon or so into the pan when boiling water, add a tea bag and then milk. It’s nice to see everyone is now understanding the benefits of these spices. ❤

I don't have a problem with influencers placing ads in their vlogs. In fact, the creators that I choose to follow have similar aesthetic to mine and I follow their advise and recommendations fairly often. They absolutely should be able to make a living from the ads if the products are carefully vetted. What does rub me the wrong way, however, is when the product is ONLY mentioned when it's time to make an ad for the brand. Kenzie is being one of them. I only see it talked about as part of an ad. The fact is that I actually did purchase it on Josie's recommendation and I like it, but even so - it's off putting when it's never talked about, unless it's an ad. Another example is the Vaha work-out mirror. It was all the rage for a while (and not just in this channel), and then - boom. Never to be mentioned again. Same thing with Sky Cinema - I am sure it's a genuinely great product/service, but it's only mentioned as an ad. There are of course other items in that category... Having said all that, it doesn't apply to all the things mentioned in the vlogs, not at all actually...but as a loyal subscriber, you tend to notice these things.

Thank you for taking the time to explain so thoroughly, very thoughtful and transparent of you. As a viewer it’s appreciated. Maybe note on screen AD when you’re being paid to promote within an upload- would be honest and helpful to viewers. As a viewer I don’t like the feeling of being taken for a mug. Hood winked by an upload. A sales pitch masking as something else just doesnt feel right. Also like to point out whilst I appreciate you pay for holidays etc as you mentioned. I realise it’s your promoted AD content which pays for those holidays, clothes etc. Which is wonderful and completely well deserved (I know how hard you work and the excellent uploads you produce) It’s lovely to watch you enjoy & share your beautiful home and lifestyle. I love and respect your work ethic and your lifestyle Josie and as a viewer I’m so happy, proud and glad for all your career achievements. But from a viewer’s perspective appreciate that most of us do not share that level of luxury. And as viewers we are in some way enabling/providing you that lifestyle by watching/reading all your social media content. Which I totally support as I love your recommendations. Love your standards and how you both live your lives. I love how you share top tips and will 100% buy products on your advice and recommendation. But just have AD in the top corner of the screen seems a small request. I’m just trying to put forward one viewer’s perspective just as you are putting forward your influencer’s perspective. It would be transparent and helpful to include AD on screen ( and not in small print in the comment box, as we know people do not always have the time to read everything) Not personal either. All luxury vloggers “sell” in the same way, it’s a luxrative business . A shame there is no regulation or a governing body to oversee clarity for the consumer. Otherwise it leaves a slight bad vibe around it, an underhanded way of selling products and a little hoodwinked. As a viewer you’re led to believe you’re watching a day in the life but really it’s a long winded, clever advert.

That cosmetics’ travel bag looks frightening to be honest… you already use a lot of different products at home and then even more on holiday when water, air, climate etc are different as well?! Your poor skin can’t cope with that. I understand that all those interesting products are a temptation but… why not listening to your doctors and stick to a routine at least for some time? I used to have some skin problems as well and I had to learn the hard way, that less is more in that regard.

@Claire Evans I'm also in the same age group and have been very careful when it comes to my skincare. I do prefer to use products from one brand to have them work in harmony. I just bought a new system prior to Christmas and not making any judgements until I use these items for this six week period. Our skin needs to adjust to these new products before we can decide whether there has been any significant changes.💖
@krisushi1
@krisushi1 Жыл бұрын
@Claire Evans Anything we go through medically does have a big impact on our skin. I was very ill over the last year and a half, yet not in your league, which has caused me to loose a significant amount of weight that I couldn't afford to loose. Although clothes can cover up one's body to an extent, my face still appears drawn and gaunt - to myself anyway. I have a great skincare range from the Dead Sea, another by a top facial Plastic Surgeon plus another based on collagen. When I noticed that YSL had a 'plumping moisturiser' I had to try it. I did purchase the range of products during the Sales and using them now, although I had tried sample sizes of three of the five products first. I'm not making any judgements as I've only been using them for just over a week. I do hope your chemo is over and successful. Looking ones best goes along way in making us feel better within ourselves. In Australia, our Cancer Council runs a program called Look Good, Feel Better, although this could possibly be worldwide. It's a terrific idea to teach how to use wigs, put on make-up in a manner that enhances your features whilst not making one look worse and other tips to build up the patient psychologically. It is strictly only for those who are suffering from cancer but I would love to organise something like this for everyone in the regional town I live in. Despite not being able to put on any body fat, (I'll spare you the details), I've managed to build myself up by excercise alone and primarily staying with a high protein/high energy diet. When hospitalised the year prior to last, my thighs were able to almost fit between the thumbs and forefingers of my hands. I had a nurse help me into bed, due to also suffering a thrice broken arm and she could see how little there was of me. Her first words were "your so skinny", yet next came "I wish I was like that"! I replied immediately with "no you don't!!!" I'm in my early 50's, yet am having to purchase the smallest sizes available in adult clothing. I refuse to go down to children's sizing! Luckily, I've worked with fashion in both retail and manufacturing and can design an outfit to cover-up my tiny size in s stylish manner. It's my face that I've become almost obsessed with now. I do look much younger than what I am, which does help but I can't understand why anyone would wish to look so terribly unwell. This is the second time this has occurred to me, with the first time loosing so much weight that I was only 36kgs! My German Shepherd weighed 35kgs and I used her 'dress collar' as a belt and had to use braces to keep up track-pants or leggings. Both times my hair also fell out quite badly which made many think that I had cancer. With all that we go through, it's only natural to show on our skin. It's great to hear that yours is doing so well and I do hope it stays looking so well. I hear many swear by using obscenely over-priced products for their skin when all these endless products are not needed. In my mid-twenties, I went to the UK and Europe for a few months holiday during a very hot summer. I had literally only a few products to moisturise and most importantly - sunscreen. Even my make-up consisted of two shades of eye-shadow and two lipsticks. Those were the days when everything was so much simpler and minimised. I've rattled on for too long now and I'll give you a well deserved break. Best of luck with your recovery and I'll send you many positive thoughts. If my face fails to 'plump' as YSL claims, I may just ask for your help! Take care of yourself and I sincerely wish you well.💖💐

We make chai in a saucepan every morning. Husband has been making it for 40 years! We bring lots of chopped ginger, smashed cardamoms, fennel seeds, cinnamon stick and several PG Tips tea bags to the boil. Then add Whole Organic Milk (a lot) and let it come to a quick boil and stir in some Organic Honey. English Breakfast tea is also delicious with this recipe. I don't like Star Anise either.

Thank you josie for mentioning ads etc I must admit I do like it when the older influencers say about nearly everything I bought this with my own money or paid for this myself I have often wondered if you get all the beauty treatments hair nails massage free for talking about them so now it's made clear. It's sometimes not always clear so it will be good for you to do what you said and just leave a small ad comment to what is free of course it's your living and you always do lovely content so thank you

Star anise - the whole thing is a pod. But there's no single chai recipe so, you can adjust flavours to suit tastes. Black tea - yes a breakfast tea would be a black tea, it's often a blend of different black teas. Most of the tea we Brits drink is black tea. x

Being a plant based eater I do love this new Josie's approach to eat and staying healthy! Good for you girl!! My suggestion is DON'T save money when it comes to spices, buy organic as much as possible. Spieces are the fun on most of the food we all eat, yes really! it can make a dish taste three times better and organically! Most of the commercial brands spieces sold in the super markets, are full of pesticides; and/or irradiated, in very unhealthy processes and I am not referring to the most exotic spieces but also to the very common Black pepper!

In Canada, we have our version of the NHS . My A1C blood sugar level put me right on the line for type 2 diabetes. My GP provided a ‘ script for the testing strips , but the monitor itself is at no cost. I pay into a benefit plan monthly- on pension now and feel must purchase so its in the budget- so the ‘script is mostly covered but I pay a small added fee.. Diabetes has such wide ranging effects on health. Gov’t health care should be helping its citizens look after themselves - these bg monitors are a great example .

The Chai you made was correct I am of part Indian heritage and my grandmother would always make my grandad a cup of tea just like that. I would add less milk and not crush the ginger but that’s my personal preference. You really need to make a blog post on your love for Chai including syrups and things you have tried. The best place to get Indian spices is a Indian supermarket if you come across one in London. Realistically the best ones closest to you would be Birmingham but that is still quiet far. Enjoy your week! 💛

The home and kitchen content is so nourishing to me, Josie...;-) Love it! On the spices recommendation; you probably already have one you like, but here where I live, I found the Middle Eastern Market and Deli shop offer THE BEST and genuinely sourced spice market spices. They're also sold in bulk, so I can get a wee bin of the spices which last for a while and I can use as much, for example, cinnamon, in my tea as I want. Check the research on Cinnamon, it's really interesting. So, try your local Indian/Middle Eastern Deli Market - plus, that's supporting the local business. And, on the Influencers bit... gurl -- honestly, I see Influencers like you as a kind of friend who's done the research, tried items and said, "Hey Girl, you gotta try this..." and as a fellow KZfaqr, I can say that I know how much Admin, editing and concept work you're doing, so keep doing it... you're doing great work...! Gosh, the possibilities inherent in that walled garden and greenhouse complex would set one's imagination racing! I am very interested in your experiences, monitoring your blood sugar. I have managed to reduce my A1C from cringe worthy levels to a normal or non problematic range in large part due to dietary regulation. I do believe my daily evolving tea infusion is a considerable factor, in addition, to have been said to be an immune system booster, as well as an antibacterial. Thanks to your good influence, Josie, I'll try out a titch of star anise as well as cardamom after completing grocery shopping in a day or two. Currently mine includes black English tea, green tea, mint, a pinch of cloves, a tiny pinch pepper, Ceylon cinnamon, freshly grated turmeric root, finely minced fresh ginger root, freshly squeezed lemon, including zest, all steeped in water, in an infusion tea pot, and sweetened with stevia. The amazingly palpable sense of well being experienced, I believe, is well worth the daily effort. My presumptions about your influence, Josie and Charlie, are completely favourable! 👍
