I’m trying to get back to painting again. My depression keeps me frozen. I’m 70 and you remind me so much of myself at a younger age even up to the fingernail biting. But I’m so glad you are making changes at your younger age. I’m still trying to get a little more active too and lose weight. You are an inspiration. Wish me luck. At least I’m going to try.

What a joy you are... and a great teacher. I have had a hard year losing a best friend. I had been on a health plan and lost weight but losing my buddy rocked my world. Painting did help . I have not painted the last two months but have found commitment to get painting again and focusing on my health and fitness. Being in a sad state of mind after covid, illness in the family and problems with our children, I started looking for an outlet I could do from home. I just got the book A Year of Watercolor for Christmas. I am really enjoying it. The downside to the book is that if you can't really draw, there is not an outline to use. But maybe someday my drawing skills will improve and it won't stop me dead in my tracks.

I came to love filbert brushes very very early on. I used them to do my swatches and 'play' with new paints and just loved how they fit on the page. I have been trying a stroke brush after seeing so many KZfaqrs talk about them: I think I like it, but I'm not certain yet.

Thanks for contributing to OUR mental health!! I’m quite interested in painting landscapes with a focus on localized bushes, shrubs, trees and flowers (as opposed to introduced species) in ecosystems. ❤️an introductory series in Jan. I’m still pretty nervous to start watercolours, been learning to work with acrylics for the past few years ( newbie to that as well.)

Emma ❤ you have no idea how much I really enjoyed doing stuff together this year. I am so grateful to get to paint casually together on a few occasions and realising how much common ground we have with our young kids and doing this watercolor thing- trying to stay "inspired" and all those in betweens. I just want you to know that I have seen you grow so much in your youtube channel over the years and the amount of effort and work you put in I know is alot and am really glad that people value it so much because you really add lots to our growing art community ❤❤❤ I m super looking forward to more stuff together and wish we lived closer!! The Internet will bind us! Haha and that stroke brush of yours... I HAVE TO GET IT❤🎉 Also - I let my kids use the carandache (a video coming soon) and it helped me get over the anxiety of using it enough... 😂and they broke a few too... 😅 but now it's a little trashed...
