Well, here's my take (and it's changed considerably as of late), I did a 'shallow' dive into American munitions. Mainly because I found out that missiles have 16 Kilos of silver (500oz), within that dive, I found out that we've given Ukraine over 1 million 155mm rounds, each one contains over 1 pound of copper. The US inventory was low when this happened (remember how we left Afghanistan?) So, these munition stores have to be replenished eventually, and that's just ONE area of demand. As of right now, copper is at a pretty high price, and if you look at forecast of infrastructure on a country basis, I think you'll find that copper is PROBABLY gonna rise further. IDK about buying copper bullion, because of a premium, but I know that guys like thousandaireradio save pennies and nickles in 5 gallon water jugs. So, yeah, I'd say its a smart investment. (NICE bullion bar BTW) ~Cheerz~

So silver and copper are major for munitions and energy. Great 'dive'. 500oz of silver in each missile seems like silver has great intrinsic value and demand. I see you're starting a channel! I'm listening right now and you talk great and have awesome information. Thank you @PatriotStackingPrep74!

That bar was a great gift. I don't buy copper but do save pre 1982 cents, even doing roll hunts. Two good channels for copper are Pirate Stacker and the Copper Mutant. You need to get and list a PO Box. This community is very good at sharing.

It was a great gift and a greater friend. So, are pre 1982 cents similar to pre 1965 nickels, dimes, and quarters? When I decided to start a KZfaq channel, I could have never imagined how much I would learn from everyone so fast. The stacking community is the most welcoming group I have ever met. I live in a big city without many friends. I don't meet many like-minded people around me. I'm hoping to move, but until then, maybe I'll meet people in my community through a local coin shop or club. I'll look into getting a PO Box. Thank you! :)

That bar is worth $45 and it would cost that much to ship it, I guess, and then you could only sell it to another person who collects copper bars. So it’s not really an investment at all. You need a warehouse full of copper to make any money and you ship it one time, or buy COPX or a similar fund.

That makes sense to me. The recent run up on copper was amazing to see. I'm new to understanding this market of precious metals. I'm gaining a better understanding of money vs currency and also working to understand how and if cryptocurrency, specifically Bitcoin and Ethereum fit in that picture. Politics and world events were on my avoid list, but not anymore. The comments help me see that I've got a lifetime plus of learning to do to catch up. I wish I had started learning this earlier, but better late than never. Thank you for your comment!

I do have some kilo's of old bronze coins (1 and 5 cent) for the fun of it, but other than that I don't really stack it. The premiums usually are prohibitive at often more than 100% over spot. It is useful, however, to store some copper with silver as copper prevents or delays the tarnishing of silver. You do have to give the copper a vinegar & salt bath every now and then to keep the surface reactive. Tracking the price of copper is, however, useful. It's a decent leading indicator for economic health and is also called Doctor Copper. Over the last couple of years I've also started giving silver for birthdays and other occasions. The abundance of stuff people have nowadays is ridiculous. Besides, especially the younger people have a lot of stuff but no financial assets. This switch in behavior was met with some skepticism, but it does seem to spark some thinking about personal finance. Personally, I live by the adage in Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching: when you know you have enough, you are truly wealthy.

I look forward to your comments. That's really interesting about the copper helping with the silver tarnishing too. So copper is on a big run up right now. Copper, as a leading indicator for economic health (but not of stock market performance), along with it's inverse relationship to the dollar, and it's current gains is very interesting and something I wouldn't have looked at if not for that 10 pound copper bar and additionally your comment regarding copper's place as an economic indicator. Copper's main uses: building homes, factories, electronics, and power generation. Power generation is standing out to me with the decreased value of the dollar and increased direction toward digital currencies along with the increase in power necessary for them.

You don't need to reply, but with great respect for your answers: Do you ever watch Lena Petrova's channel and did you see her video called "BRICS Will ACCELERATE Launch of Its Financial System Following Russian Asset Seizure, Sanctions"? If so, what are your thoughts about this topic?

@@LaurenTGage As there are many, many channels to choose from, I've become a bit selective in what I watch and who I follow. The four main analysts I follow are Lyn Alden, Luke Gromen, Eric Basmajian and Alfonso Peccatiello. Furthermore, I like the down to earth reasoning of Andre at Stackers University. The Rational Reminder and Ben Felix also have some interesting points of view. I've seen a bit of Lena Petrova, but I don't really follow her. Regarding the BRICS, I do think the global economy will become more fragmented, but it's hard to see the dollar being replaced as a global reserve currency. The main problem with the BRICS-countries is that these are countries with leadership that don't adhere much to the rule of law and, therefore, cannot be trusted very well. Especially when it comes to financial cooperation trust is essential. The BRICS-countries may have a common gripe regarding SWIFT and the US dollar, but that doesn't mean they trust each other.

@LaurenTGage Im sorry, I meant IQD, The Iraq Dollar. If and when IQD gets a 1-to-1 ratio. It will be a revolution to the currency along the nation. @@LaurenTGage Indeed! Oh yeah! now you see the true potential and value it has. Hopefully one day its time will shine. I believe with A.I, Bitcoin, Ev's and Technology, todays power consumption will faulter do to demand of those technologies. Another reason i have invested in U92=Uranium and Hydrogen, gold, copper and silver JR mining stocks for the future. If you do your research Arizona, New Mexico is becoming a next gen mining HUB for all essential mineral deposits that we will need to sustain power. We will need U92 just to keep all the lights on in the future. Green energy will not be enough imo. Remember: If one day cavillation can harness the power of just one small star. We can power the entire world for millenniums.

If you wanted to “stack” copper you would want 5/8 inch 99.9 pure copper cord on a spool. Who is your customer? Other people collecting copper bars, or manufacturers who make wire, cables, and stamped parts? They don’t buy bars, they buy 5/8 inch cord, or so this lady at Southwire in Florence, AL told me. They make everything out of that. Buying copper bars is like paying double for a commemorative gold or silver coin that you can only sell to another collector and you will never get your money back from people who just want an ounce of metal. I looked into stacking copper and you would want to buy several flatbed trucks of ready-to-use cord to sell someday to businesses that use it. Little bars will have such a small customer pool and at $4.50/lb it’s hardly cost effective to ship it. You need volume and then only move it one time lol. Open a free brokerage acct, at Fidelity for example, and buy COPX and it’s top holdings if you want to invest in copper. That’s what I do. Copper has nowhere to go but up, it was $3.00/lb for a long time then jumped to $4.00, now it’s gotten up to $4.50 or so. I think the copper price is a good barometer of what’s coming, and it’s pretty stable, it doesn’t jump around like gold and silver.

Great information! Before getting this copper bar, I had no idea that growth in copper is used as a direct indicator of a growing economy. @cyclingphilosopher8798's comments helped there too. With inflation so high though, if copper is signaling GDP growth, does that indicate a state of hyperinflation is more likely? That bar is beautiful and extremely heavy. It makes 10 pounds feel like 30. The YTD growth on COPX is currently 23%. That's a great number. I'm picturing running flatbed trucks of copper across country lol. That'd be awesome. Thank you!!

I'm not sure how you mean that but I want to say to clear things up just in case that I was saying I can't believe it's only 10 pounds because of how very, very heavy it is. I couldn't be more grateful for this massive bar of copper and even more so for my friendship with this amazing person. The 10 pound copper bar feels heavier than a 10 pound bag of sugar or flour I guess because it's so dense. The bar feels like it weighs 30 pounds or more to pick up. Precious metals are a world that was unknown to me until recently. From comments, I'm learning the true difference between money and currency, different buying options for precious metals, important investment considerations, laws, acts, and current events that affect our economic and political system. I'm learning the fact that copper and silver are hugely important in a broad spectrum of industries. This channel is made so I start questioning my thinking and actually learn. I've got a ton of learning to do. Thank you for making it apparent that it could look like I don't think it's much copper because that's not what I meant.
