My First Frame build Refreshed!

In this video, I did a little overhaul and repaint of my commuter bike. This bike is my first ever frame build. It's about 7 years old and it getting close to having 20,000 miles ride on it! I still remember the first ride I took on it. I thought the bike might collapse, but it didn't, and here we are. I made a few more modifications to the frame before painting it. I dimpled the seat stays a bit to accommodate a wider tire/or fenders, and welded 5 washers bent like taco shells for cable guides. I painted the bike a solid yellow color using Spray.Bike paint.

Good to see the steel frame is still going well I remember watching you make it in your videos I also make steel filler braised and Tig frames mainly out of Columbus tubing as it’s easier to get in Australia l made plenty of mistakes but it has been so much fun specially when you ride your own frames l bought frame jig from the bicycle Academy in the UK unfortunately they’re not going any more I use many other component companies in the US like Nova, Farr frameworks, cobraframe, building your videos made me get into making frames thanks cheers 👍😊

Nice refresh job. I remember watching you make that frame. It inspired me to build mine. But, I used lugs and silver brazed it. Thanks

Great to see an update video and glad to hear you've put some serious miles on this thing with no issues. Pretty good for a first build which is sometimes the pancake you feed to the dog :) I've also repainted one of my early builds and I reckon using 2K clear over the spray bike (or Montana Gold) gives you a more durable finish. Also very nice and glossy.
