Pavement is the worst for you joints, increases recovery time due to the unnatural pounding on a hard surface, and significantly increases the chances of getting long term serious injuries. Dirt road and even better grass is the way to go. I actually do most of my mileage barefoot on grass and I train everyday (7 months), recover well, and stay injury free.

4x3 on 1 off at @ tempo, 4x2 on 2 off @ 5k, and 4x1 on 3 off as fast as possible. One you finish the workout, you feel like an absolute god

My favourite XC workout would be Fartlek training as it effectively improves my fitness and can be a lot of fun. This workout allows me to mix in faster-paced intervals with slower recovery periods, making it an amazing workout for building speed and endurance. Lex and Leo's videos never disappoint as it perfectly captures the essence of their dedication and teamwork

mile repeats are my favorite because you can test your fitness, and it’s a solid workout to get better in. I would never run this workout alone though, it’s a mental battle and having someone to push with you makes it easier and enjoyable.

Love these chill, high quality vlogs. Favourite workout has to be 1km repeats since you feel fast while still being able to get into a rhythm. The music also hits right on these sunny days. Keep up the videos.

My favorite workout I’ve done so far has been 6x1k w/90 sec rest because coming into it as a mid distance runner I can still hang on with my team and have enough in me to finish faster and not feeling fatigued which is nice and a happy medium! Anything longer than 1k reps feels too long for me! Anyways great video l&l hope Lex recovers fast from the injury :D

My current favorite cross country workout has got to be some mile repeats with 1.5-2 minutes of rest. It’s not an extremely complex workout, but it’s always a fun one to do.

My favorite workout for our cross country involves doing 2 minutes at an easy pace, followed by 2 minutes at our mile pace for 4 miles. While it may not be an extreme workout, it is my favorite. Keep up the hard work, and I can't wait for the new era of L&L.

My favorite cross country workout has got to be either a long fartlek, or a hard progression long run. The thing that makes the progression long run so nice is that you start off semi relaxed but the progression feels natural. It also helps to have awesome teammates around.

Mile repeats, gradually increasing pace each rep. Starts okay but becomes brutal by the end. Feels good to put in a solid workout😎

My favorite cross country workout has always been ladder from 1k, 2k, 3k(x2) on grass. I always feel sluggish on grass but post workout I always felt like I accomplish getting mentally stronger. Love the content. Stoked for upcoming season for both of you!

My favorite cross country workout is definitely 8x1k around a grass field with a minute rest. Definitely a tough one, but once you get in the zone and accept the pain it’s the best!

HEY LEO AND LEX!!! I love your videos and I just started my first XC season in High school last week, it. was sooo amazing!!! My favorite work out in the XC is probably the Saturday Long run at Snowcreek park the trails there is super fun although the uphills were tough, the steep downhills make up for it!!!!!!

My favorite favorite workout is 1k repeats because when you get into a groove you star feeling good and moving fast. Also it is very helpful on training. Thank you guys for the opportunities you are giving and thanks for all your tips and opinions. They have helped me a ton. Good luck this season!

My favorite workout that my cross country team needs to run is the hills behind the school-we call it the wall. It is a very tough hill repeats workout but ever since my coach started making us do it i went from dying after every hill to being able to power through every hill. Thanks L&L for inspiring me to run fast

My favorite workout is easily a tempo progression. I always start out a little slower than tempo and work my way down. I usually end up going a bit too fast but it always feels amazing 🤩

One of my favourites is the 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 minutes on the grass with the first and last reps starting with a sprint and finishing with one too.

Favorite cross country workout out is 1 mile repeats with stairs, push ups and sit ups in between. Works out the whole body. Love the content!

My favorite workout has got to be 5x5 minutes on with only 1 minute recovery. It really helps dial in that feel of a real race and it is a real challenge to get a decent recovery with only 1 minute. The on shoes would be a blessing considering my last workout pair are absolutely destroyed from summer training🙏. Love the content keep up the good work❤️

I really like a 10-12 mile long run with around 25 minutes at threshold pace. They can be such a grind but they add so much fitness and make me feel great later in the season.

My favorite would have to be a 600 meter repeat loop around my local park. Do 6-8 of them at race pace with limited rest and you are ready to go! Great video guys!

Favorite cross country workout has got to be a 4-7 mile tempo. Grinding it out but not going all out is a great confidence booster for me and such a good way to get faster

My fav XC workout is definitely mile repeats on a hilly course! No comparison between reps as the elevation would vary each time; no watches on - just coach timing! Been loving your series and super excited to follow you along your college career!! would LOOOVVVEE to win these!

3 sets of 4x400m repeat at 5k pace has got to be my favorite workout. Great way to get your legs to feel out the pace, and still be recovered enough to hammer harder workouts!

The best Cross Country workout has to be Cruise miles. It’s almost as if you set cruise on your car. Your range is your set pace for a mile and you get faster with each of the 4 miles you do. It helps you understand negative splitting and is always a awesome workout with the team! Love these videos boys! Have fun at Stanford!

I’m a huge fan of doing some shorter threshold work (2-3 mile tempo) followed by faster reps @race effort (or even a little faster than race effort). I feel as if running @threshold before getting into the meat of the workout helps me feel more confident and relaxed when the going gets tough. Love the channel guys! My girlfriend and I are huge fans. We’re excited to watch you all compete at Stanford :)

Great video as always guys. One workout that I love to do is 2 miles at tempo then 8x200 hill sprints then finish up with 2 more miles at tempo, super tough workout and really helps to work on sprinting up those hills like you would in a race.

favorite workout of cross country is definitely 2 x (1200 @ 10k pace, 800 @ 5k pace, 600 @ 2 mile pace, 400 @ mile pace) with lots of hill repeats before and after! kudos on the great workout and awesome summer series!

I’m a big fan of a descending ladder workout which usually goes 6-5-4-3-2-1 and you do it twice. Nice to get the longer ones out of the way towards the beginning and you get to focus more on your speed the whole time.

My favorite workout with my XC team is the what we call the “big ladder” it goes up by 400m, 800m, 1200m, 1600m, and back down. It’s our hardest workout of the season and it’s always awesome having teammates push each other and encourage others to do their best.

My favorite workout is mile repeats on the track because it feels really fast and since the workout takes care of most of my mileage, the cooldown doesn’t feel like a chore to complete. Just having fun talking with friends, flushing out lactic for 10 minutes instead of dying on a 4 mile cooldown😁

I feel like especially during cross the most safe and best workout I do is 400m. They have both good endurance depending on how many you do and varying speeds that you can use for them also. I feel like it can help simulate how you would feeling during a race! Great video can never go wrong with a tempo as well

1k or mile repeats with hills are definitely my favorite because it just can really show your fitness level and what you have to show and build off of for your season, and also the mental endurance building is great for racing and just mental toughness all around

My favorite cross country workout is a progressive long run with the team. The way this workout wears your body down with the mileage while you also have to keep upping the pace simulates races well.

My favorite workout is called Eastern Europe 1. 3x3x100. R1 stride, R2 good , R3. Jog btw reps and then you do 2 800s w/ 5 min rest btw. Then you do the 100s again. Really fun workout and very hard! Keep up the work!!! Love y'all's videos!!

My favorite xc workout is easily mile repeats. Fast enough to feel it, but long enough to take advantage of that aerobic engine. Close second place goes to any long tempo effort, because those just feel amazing. Super interested to compare the cloudboom echo 3 to other supershoes, if not soon in the future.
