Ground Tour and Flight on the B-17G Sentimental Journey plus a tribute to the brave airmen of the US Air Force.
We must always remember them.
In the summer of 2023 this beautiful B-17G Flying Fortress came to Medicine Hat, Alberta. I climbed into this B-17 on a "walkthrough" ground tour and went for a ride in the bombardier and navigator positions!
If you found this video after watching the B-17 in Masters of the Air on Apple TV and want to learn more about these amazing aircraft you have come to the right place!
Please support the Arizona Commemorative Airforce. Go see the Museum, go for tours on their aircraft, and be sure to book a flight on one of their many aircraft as they come to your area! This history must be preserved for future generations.
Thank you for watching! If you appreciate this video please like and subscribe!

A ride of a lifetime. Way better than anything at Disneyland.

Amen to that. People ask me what it was like, and I do not have words to describe it. My plans are to do the same on a B-29 "FiFi", a B-24 "Diamond Lil" or "Witchcraft" , and B-25 (only got to peek inside Skunkie when she was stored at the Curtiss-Wright hangar at Owens Field).

A person can forget their plane ride on a 737 to Mexico but these vintage aircraft truly speak to you (and through you with the sound).

Thank you! It was an amazing experience. That aircraft is extremely special and I hope many more future generations get to see it and absorb the history. There is more WWII / Warbird stuff coming from my summer travels in future videos!

Love it! Speaking of a Sentimental Journey, I grew up in Mesa, AZ and got my license at Falcon Field which is the home of the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum and this wonderful B-17. I haven't seen her in 30 years....Thanks!

That must have been a fantastic ride... I get exided just to hear the engines running... I recall that sound from my hours flying the C-47 and C-54 in Danish Airforce Sq721... Thanks for the detailed information...

It's a flight I will always remember. The sound was amazing (but very loud). You have flown a lot of aircraft Stefan!

The names and dates written in the B17 make it a personal experience to simply be in the plane let alone to be able to fly in it. I remember the CAF had a 17 near me in 1986 and the first thing that I saw was men who had served in B17s with their families children and grandchildren telling them well you met the others who were in their airplanes and this is where he was as a waist gunner or whatever. I remember coming away with a very different feeling about the whole experience. Then as time passed I ended up knowing several men who were Waist Gunners on B17s. Unfortunately for us time has passed and most of these men who flew in combat and the brave women who flew aircraft to Europe and the South Pacific are gone now. They are truly the Greatest Generation.

The signatures are one of the parts of that aircraft that really stood out to me. The bomb bay is it's own museum piece with that aircraft which makes it so special. A flying museum!
