31 perfumes in 20 years of business is showing a lot of restraint and dedication to releasing only finished, well crafted products in my opinion. And none of them ever discontinued. There is one not listed on his site or fragrantica, that was a collaboration with Elle Magazine for their 25th anniversary. But I can’t dock them for making a boutique exclusive once in their 20 years in business. You’re absolutely right sometimes we judge new releases too quickly because we compare them to staples of it’s genre. I know I’m guilty of that. Anytime you discuss the brand I’m gonna tune in.

Yup and Montale and Mancera each release that many in 1 year lol. I find the brands that have tons of releases and always seem to be releasing something new, don’t take each perfume that seriously. Or look at each one as special as a company that spends a lot of time and effort on one every few years.

Own most that i like, around 8 bottles. VE, Carnal, Music for a while, Lys, Angeliques, L'Eau d'Hiver, Bigarade and Noir Epices. Vetiver is still the standout for me. More than his fragrances, we have to thank FM for changing the perfume game and recognising what the enthusiasts and the industry needed.

You’re the one that really opened my eyes to EDPFM! I remember going to smell the range and not being super impressed apart from Musc Ravageur and wrote them off. But seeing your love for this brand I decided to test them out again and while they’re all good, Noir Epices really jumped out at me this time. I pretty much had the same reaction as you, total love at first sniff! In fact I am almost done saving up for a bottle :)

I have an odd attraction to Music for a While...I love it. There is no other brand where I could say yes, I'd take very fragrance in the collection with no questions asked and I would wear every one. Thanks for the temporary respite from pandemic stress.

Great collection Eugene. My favorites are POAL, Carnal Flower and Superstitious. Also Rose&Cuir is growing on me so hopefully it will be my next purchase 😉👍🏼

Really enjoy your strange and unique delivery/way of speaking. Lots of knowledge and passion for the brands you discuss and it keeps me watching. Your videos nudged me to buy several FM and Guerlain bottles which I never would have done. Very pleased with the 10 FM choices I made but the Guerlain is so light and short lived I have to spray like 20 times to last and project even for 3-4 hours (I bought like 12 bottles watching your videos). I wont be buying any more Guerlain bottles for sure but you cant win them all. Anyway, thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.

Man, I've been craving an aromatic fougere from Malle too! I know you said barbershop but tbh I don't really understand the different fougere classifications, especially when people refer to Shalimar as a fougere (I know the recipe was derived in part from a previous fougere release but I always think of it as an oriental). Those cuts away to the rose and cuir review were hilarious. Always nice to hear from you Eugen! Hope you are well.

Wonderful collection, Eugene. I’m in the midst of sampling through the house and am thoroughly impressed. Love the brand concept, and focus on featuring the perfumer artistry behind each creation. Standouts for me thus far are Portrait of a Lady, Musc Ravageur, Carnal Flower, and Lys Méditerranée. Noir Epices didn’t quite click with me-felt the five-spice was fainter than I’d like before transitioning to a yeasty, waxy bread note. And my next purchase is the Essentials Set-excited for French Lover, Geranium Pour Monsieur, and Vetiver Extraordinarie. The challenge will be picking my first bottle! Side question: how are the new 30ml bottles? They seem nice, but I’m worried I’d miss the glass. Thoughts?

I remember I went to the Frederic Malle booth on Bloor and this Asian dude served me. I told him I wanted something mass appealing, and then he brought up Aventus, after that he told me the brand was probably not for me. Hahahhahahaha

I love Iris Poudre and recently started looking out to get full bottle of Lys and Bigarade. Musc Ravageur was not for me and I found it too sweet. I liked POL but it wore me rather than the other way around. I mostly wear perfume in professional settings and don’t have a fancy enough life where the more artistic/big perfumes have a chance to come out and play 😂. I love the art there, but it’s too much money to sit on a shelf’s the travel sprays or samples will have to do.

I absolutely love Music for a while! My wife ordered it for me yesterday, I remember thanking “Eugene’s nose may be broken” watching the earlier reviews 🤷♂️... to each his own , I think that is what FM is all about . L’eau D’Hiver is the first floral I fell for head over heals ... just natural but neither male/female.. just nature fucking in a bed of flowers sexy

My eyes lit up seeing your collection really Eugene!! I’ve been digging this house and thinking about adding two more bottles to my collection in the next few months. Une Fleur de Cassie would 100% be one, but the other I’m deciding between Rose and Cuir, Cologne Indelible, and En Passant. I’m leaning toward either Rose and Cuir vs Cologne Indelible. (I hated R&C when it came out, but have grown to like it somehow, don’t know how to describe it, it’s quite synthetically pleasant, which isn’t usually the case for FM. Then Cologne Indelible is a great scent, but doesn’t really surprise me. Could you share some experience about these two scents after using them for some time? (En Passant is unique enough that I feel like I’ll eventually get it at some point anyway). Ps. It’s very interesting how you consider Une Fleur de Cassie to be more challenging than The Night (also strangely love its skankiness!) I only discovered UFdC about two months ago and my first wearing was very similar to what you described in your older video-I had to go home and change my clothes, it was that bad. And yet half way through my 3.5ml sample, I’ve really come to LOVE it somehow, and it gets a lot cleaner after getting used to it. The scent is such an art... Anyway, thank you for showing the collection! Lighting up my staying-in time. I hope you and your family are well (:

Eugene id love to see you do a in depth review about the psychology of what drives you on your passion for perfumery .. what does the scent do for you , how does it lift your mood , is it followed by a high . does it bring a source of lasting comfort owning so many. or in simpler terms is it a form of addiction. I suppose there are worse things to be hooked on. personally I own 5 fragrances , enjoy buying samples which I get enjoyment from , . I am just curious , will there come a point where you are content with the collection you have . would love to hear you thoughts . all the best anyway fella . thanks for the knowledge . T

Angel Krastev Go with CI over BC. Definitely better than Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. BC is rather linear orange scent, which is beautiful but CI, in my opinion, is a better summer scent. Can’t go wrong with either.

I have several fragrances from Frederic Malle, but given the very high cost of most I have 10ml travel spray sizes. I like the fragrances from this house that I own but I don't wear them very often, and I doubt I would pull for them more often if they were much less costly. So buying the 10ml size makes much more sense for me personally.
