My Homemade Miniature Airboat - A Quick Introduction to the Project

This is a quick intro or teaser video of my airboat project! I built this from a small duck boat and a paraglider fan motor. It's a work in progress, especially after I crashed and destroyed the prop. I plan to feature this in a few more upcoming videos as I continue to work on it.

I spent a few minutes trying to think of a better rudder but looking at the prices online, I think you were right to go with plywood. Maybe a can of spray paint with a laser cut stencil of the saveitforparts logo on the rudder would class it up...down... medium! It would give you another opportunity to use the smokemaker2000

The steering of the/front wheel should be similar to the steering of an Iceboat,where the front skate, A.K.A. (wheel) is controlled by your feet!

It would be super cool if you could rig up the front tire steering wheel set up so ti is also connected to the thing that controls the rudder on the back but that might not work to great steering the boat from both the front and back at the same time lol. maybe you could put something where you can choose if you want the front tire to be controlled by the lever or the back rudder and you can switch between them. Also if you want to stay in the water you can either put a nose or a wind shield on the front of the boat to help give youi some down force or if yu really want to go crazy you can mess around with some hydrofoils!

Great project ! Do you know how many pounds you can load into your boat ? And how many Hp in your engine ? Thanks

The engine is about 28-30hp (It's French and the manual is poorly translated). The most I'd carry is two people and minimal stuff like oars and anchor.

Real airboats use dual rudders for a reason. Dual rudders would make it more controllable and less likely to spin out on you. Also, real airboats used to take them down the road to scratch up the bottom of the boat... it seems like they told me that it made them stick to the water better. Otherwise, it looks like you did a fine job on it.

Buying a prop!? Obviously you ran out of washing machines and ceiling fans...Cooling fan out of an old truck? Play helicopter prop in McDonald's? Even this guy might help kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5tkZdp8vanTnI0.html Pause it at 0:10, I'm not a marine biologist or anything but that might work. (since his invention didn't work, he should probably change the last word in its the name to "bitch")
