My Horse Gets a Makeover... | Bathing, Clipping (Year 2)

Hey y'all! I made one of these last year when Lynx got body clipped, so I figured I'd make another one! More laid back video with not much action but it was fun to edit and easy to film. Next video will probably be Snooze's journey video... stay tuned for that.
Of course in this video I use my favorite grooming products by Espana Silk! Be sure to check them out!
Lynx isn't the biggest fan of the cold so I'm preparing him to go back to Florida or somewhere warm with me soon.

I have dogs and one day my horses were following me right on my heels and I realized I was saying go lay down just go lay down thought I was the only one🤣

The way Lynx is standing there - he looks a bit like a Lippizan horse that is accustomed to go in front of carriages (they are also the famous horses of the Spanish Riding school in Vienna)

When you mention rain rot , I was thinking putting the horse blanket on him after washing before drying looked like a moist rot environment. I would think brushing and air dry before blanketing would be better.

When is auction day? I did like and say I was interested on a FB page but I can't remember it 😆 I'm in Australia, subscribed to your channel a few months ago because I think it is wonderful what your country is doing to save your Mustangs. Our Brumbies haven't got the happy endings like your Mustangs 😥 Love your training methods Sam, I'm an older lady now but used to have horses. I wish I could afford to save a racehorse.

@@GaborSzabo747 You are almost right. I am german, my last name is hungarian and I live in Guatemala since I was 7. Always had a gypsy soul and I am currently trying to learn a bit of hungarian, but it is a though one! Went to Uni in Germany for a couple of years, but missed Guatemala so much I came back. On all of my horses I cut back as long as the ear. It brings out the head and just makes them stand out.

My horse just got clipped and it was so satisfying bc all the dirt and stuff stuck in his fur just came off(he’s a gray and is 99% filthy)

Why do horses get clipped in autumn? It seems counterintuitive

when It gets colder they start to grow a thicker winter coat. This means when they exercise they get really hot and sweaty which is uncomfortable (like us running around in a heavy jacket or coat) The winter coat also takes ages to dry so they will get cold and can get sick. So if the are in work you clip as the coat starts to grow and depending on the horse and how much work they are in you will clip more or less, legs are normally left on as they don't get as sweaty and it helps with mud fever. As you can see she's only taken half of his face off but I always had to take it all of my horse as he got really sweaty. So horses will be clipped and then rugged so they don't get cold. In summer their coat changes again and it is shorter and not as thick because its hotter outside.
