Flaring the foot out to the side helps to throw the Round Knee (skipping/hopping in, and rotating the hips through the target at the same time). The pivot over the plant foot/hip can be used to add a final snap with the anticipated impact, and, if the inner ball of the foot during that pivot is set strongly as the balance-point, can be used to leverage weight back towards center and recover posture. The flared foot is ready to escape by spinning through, if the knee is caught (but exposing your back is a very risky move. But so is not seeing the spinning back elbow coming! Sawadeekhap, everyone! ). It can also become the lever point for the "Great Wall" clinch spacing defense, clinching with both hands in any position, (full plum, head and bicep, etc.). Supergirl's knee is basically the same movement through the torso and hips as the "Stiffarm" teep, but devastatingly sneaky! Great video! Muay Khao

I’m 22 now, The first time I ever had to fight someone I was 15-16, it happened in secondary school. This guy had been bullying me for years and eventually he broke me and I just couldn’t hold it back anymore. My friend had told me that he had been saying stuff about me again so I went and found him. We started scraping straight away, he got some good ones in. Eventually I managed to get him close and knee him in the chest. It ended the fight immediately, the guy was gasping for air. I actually felt quite bad despite all the shit he did to provoke me 😶 I had damaged the cartilage in his chest apparently, I’m not really sure what that means tbh.

Helpful video mate constantly improving my knees is definitely on my list. I am having issues with the range of motion and loosening the hips while kneeing. Knowing I can get to far more extend but I lose stability and balance when I intend to do so. I always wondering how much I want to rotate my back foot whilst lunging the knee to get more range but maintain stability at the same time. Keep it up 🙏

Dear Shane, would you make a video explaining the allowed and not alllowed in Muay Thai. Where can you hit? where you cannot? what's the boundary between those? Can you hold the leg? the arm? You are allowed to hold the neck, but why not the shoulders ? etc. I'd like to know this in order to think out of the box without incurring on any fault. Thanks.

Shane do you feel like squared stance is bad for throwing knees cuz i feel that way.. Plus can you do moving side to side and punching in kickboxing/MMA cuz i always move perfectly in shadowboxing,moving side to side,steping over,shuffling but in sparring i always go backwards and flinch (1 amateur fight)
@ML-pd7ps
@ML-pd7ps Жыл бұрын
You're not drilling enough. If you don't fight the same as you train then you probably don't have a system to train efficiently and effectively. So I would recommend doing Orthodox and Southpaw, 2 rds each stance, 3 or 5 min, and just move in stance. Step by step. Forward, backwards, and side to side. Do atleast 1000 rounds and I don't think you'll have a problem anymore, aslong as you keep drilling tho 💯
@RickGrimes__
@RickGrimes__ Жыл бұрын
@@ML-pd7ps I'm stance switching fighter,problem is that i think only my talent will give me results ( i know it wont but those are devils that i fight everydayl). As you said i'm probably not drilling enough
@belikewater420
@belikewater420 Жыл бұрын
Sounds more like a fear/hesitance of getting hit than a technical problem, assuming you truly have movement down and the safety of shadow boxing hasn't given you a false sense of accomplishment in your technique. I have been there and sparring is truly the eye opener for all those learning with just technique/skill training. Grit and fearlessness is needed as well in real applications.
@RickGrimes__
@RickGrimes__ Жыл бұрын
@@belikewater420 I think i overestimated my technique in shadow boxing because I truly am technical in shadow boxing, many said that but I’m sparring I wouldn’t say I’m scared it’s just that I’m hesitant and I always focus on what is my opponent doing
@belikewater420
@belikewater420 Жыл бұрын
@@RickGrimes__ you may not consider it fear or are being truly fearful per se, but that hesitancy is likely you worrying about the possibility of eating a few strikes to work your game. Not to say you should charge in blindly, but it always takes me a few good bops to stop caring about what my opponent does and just focus on working. Like you said, worried about what the opponent is doing. You aren't there to worry about their plans, you are there to implement your own game plan. It's hard to overcome at first and I'm definitely working on that at this moment getting back after 4 years out of the arts. Maybe make it a session goal to slip forward, circle in, move forward with your defense and add offense as you get comfortable.
