Series Land Rover Bronze Green , all capping galvanised, top of roof match the wheels, the rattle cab windows I changed the runners and the new ones were tight. Remember when you sell if you have a far out colour it will be difficult to move on.

Grasmere green body and wheels with a white roof top is my prefered Landy combo.

In keeping with the ER sticker, Royal Claret paint with cream wheels and roof would be classy

I’d go full mohair canvas in sand colour over a full roll cage not the oem stick and hoop set. Similar to a 110 military wolf. I’d have an internal cab fume curtain for winter. Paint colour moss green. I’d stick black wolf wmik wheels on it with BFG Mud terrains. While i was at it I’d think about a BMW M57

LR Parts / Masai offer a fixed rear window for a 110, not sure if that would fit the back? Alternatively the Frontrunner Gullwing window may also work. Colour wise, I think you can’t beat a Marine Blue, with white roof and heritage grill & bumper.

Hi Doc, My current Defender was Corris grey, I have had it sprayed Corris grey and Santorini black like the last Defenders that were made, I think they were called Autobiography Defenders, really looks cool but a modern look. I had a Suzuki LJ80, I sprayed it ‘Westminster’ blue with a matching blue mohair hood, it’s a really old colour that all the government cars and royalty cars were sprayed, it’s a block colour, very deep. If you need any photos I can show you. I had the hood made by a marine outfitter in Portsmouth. Kind regards Tony

I am kind of person who want keep things as is as long as it is not needing repairing or replacing. I dont mind bit of dents and scratches and pint loss. They give character. But I want all mechanical to be as perfect as possible. I dont mind oil leak. But those rusty chassis must be cleaned inside out in summer and paint and coating! Need to do good seat sponges ! I have not done mine yet as UK money is way too high for AUD!

Leave it original - over restored examples do not turn heads like one with its patina. Every dent, scratch etc is part of a Land Rover’s unique history.

What about a pease of shower gasket that would stop the rattle on that back glass, and it's clear so it would not catch your eye also, it's waterproof 🤔

RAF blue, galvanise as much as possible, black truck bed canvas but leave the cab intact. I have “speedliner” in the rear of my 90 truck, it’s a raptor coat, very hard wearing and grey in colour, looks very smart and subtle too.

Portofino Red! Rarely see any pick-ups in that colour, and done properly it's a lovely colour :)

On my 130 Tipper and my Td5 HCPU, I removed the rear window unit and had a plant glass glazer fit a one piece window, firmly bonded in place…. no rattles ever!

I have a 2004 TD5 Defender in the lovely Oslo Blue colour, I would recommend. 👍

Full chassis clean and inspection first, re chassis if it’s on its way if you are keeping it..

I used a short piece of door rubber in the rear window, (stops it rattling)it also stops water coming in!

With a full canvas you can get what is called a "fume curtain" which is another canvas screen that fits behind the driver .... effectively screens off the load bay for the winter giving you back the toasty warm cab effect.

I would save some money with the cappings and get them sand blasted and galvanised, just done it myself and its come out really well.

I would stick with a factory colour scheme, OK your not considering selling yet but at some time you will be. The chassis looks good, as usual I would use Kurust to treat rust surface areas (wire brush the worst off first) and then coat with Corroless black chassis paint. Then you can use your Dinitrol on top of that. I would recommend 3125 HS as it is a light brown colour and doesn't coat everything in a horrible bitumen coating that other rust preservers do. Glad your not considering using Lanoguard again, as this only works on pristine condition chassis, not the sort of trucks we end up buying. There is a reason it only takes a short while to spray on. Using Kurust and Corroless will take many hours to do properly, there's a good reason way this method is superior.

I had a swb puma with full new canvas which is great in the summer with all its options but drove me mad when all tied down with all the flapping and banging over 50mph. I covered all the framework with soft pipe insulation which helped but still really annoying. Be warned. Suggest you do all the mechanicals and interior before painting. Nice project👍

Look at the Ineos colour Queens Red, I suppose it’s a maroon colour. Cream roof and wheels. That will look very classy and old school. The BMW engine conversion is great if you have the money. One company who does them will sort you out for £35k complete 😳
