Here’s feedback for you, Andrea: I love your energy. You are consistently cheerful, upbeat, and inviting even when you’re worn to a nub. I like how personal and real you are-I feel like you’re talking to me…your ‘friend.’ I find your videos interesting and informative-I like seeing how you do your projects. The fact that you carry me along throughout your day-to Blick, to get takeout, on dates with Ryan…all of that is so real and makes me feel a part of your day. In short, keep up the great work!

Feedback. I enjoy very much your assignments. You talk about your thought process in designing. I like the drawing painting cad etc steps in the development. We get to share your life as a student. Also your personal free time activities. Museums food nyc opportunities friends. And your upbeat positive outlook I’m a creative fiber plus art person so I find it all very interesting. Thanks for your generosity of sharing this special time in your life. I wish I could go back to school at 69!!!!!

It's been a while since I've commented and I just caught up on your last three vlogs, so here's my backlog of comments: - That jacket is AMAZING!! And your parents are adorable. - That everything bagel had me really missing NYC, that sounded so freaking delicious. - Frankie is the cutest and also most beautiful. - Congrats on making it to the end of the semester! I'm very impressed at your ability to manage your time as a student and still do fun things. - Feedback: I love your editing style, I love the music, I love the mix of talking to the camera and voiceovers (these were great to weave in a million ends and sew buttons onto a cardigan I just finished, when you do time lapses it just felt like getting things done together), I'd love to see more saori weaving videos in your free time.

Actually I want to add that I originally discovered your channel when you were posting weaving videos, and when you first started posting FIT vlogs I thought I might not watch them, but I've truly loved following along for the ride. I think it's a testament to your very easy going and energetic style, you come across very genuinely which goes a long way to building trust with an audience.

These comments mean SO much to me, thank you so so much!! 🥹💕 I am happy to be your crafting companion ❤️ And it especially means a lot to me that you came for the weaving and still decided to stick around. I was worried about suddenly transitioning my channel from strictly weaving content to vlogs, and I'm glad both can still be interesting. I definitely want to make more weaving videos when I have the time!! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and for your support.

Personally I think what you are creating with your YT videos is amazing. I would love to see some more timelaps of your creating your work instead of jumping to the end product (I like your long videos). I love it when you talk to the camera as we get to see more of your personality and I've been loving your more personal vlog days with your family and Ryan. Overall I'd say keep doing what you are doing, I just want to see more 🤩 So proud of you smashing this semester. Have a Merry Christmas and I can't wait for your next video x

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! I really like how you give your artist's statement every time you present your final collections to us in video :~) it's really professional and interesting to hear your final assessment of the works! Do you have plans for all your final weaving samples once you graduate? They would make a really awesome patchwork project for nostalgia

Thank you so much for your kindness 🥹💕 I also appreciate the feedback! I'm not sure what I want to do with those samples, but I'll most likely have to make them into some kind of a professional presentation for finding jobs first 😅 Afterwards I totally might patchwork them, that would be SO fun!! Isn't he absurd LOL and happy holidays to you, too!!

Congrats on finishing another semester! I joined as a viewer in the last few months and totally binge watched your school adventures. I love seeing the creative ways you approach your assignments. Since you did ask for feedback, I think it would be nice to sometimes get a little more explanation of things. For example, in the beginning of the video you mentioned the loom was dropping harnesses. What does that mean, and what does it do to the weave? As someone who sews a lot in their spare time and is the daughter of a quilter, I've seen a lot of fabric, but I've never known much about the fabric/textile design process. Your videos are a glimpse into that world, and I'm having a lot of fun learning from you. Thank you for sharing with us, and may your winter break be restful and recharging.
@AndreaAlexander
@AndreaAlexander Жыл бұрын
I really appreciate this feedback! Sometimes I'm not sure whether my explanations are boring or not 😅 When I said the harnesses were dropping, it basically means that the loom isn't lifting things the way it's supposed to. It's designed to lift certain harnesses, which hold threads in a specific pattern, which allows me to weave a pattern... And instead of lifting properly, the harnesses would lift and then would literally crash down on me halfway through me passing the shuttle through, which was so frustrating because it would mess up my pattern! It's some kind of a mechanical issue that was beyond my understanding so I would have to call my professor for help 😭 I hope that made sense! Thank you so much for your kindness 🥹💕 Happy holidays!!

What a successful semester, you are really smashing it! I would say on the whole your videos are excellent, but I would like to hear more about your creative process. In the Netflix Chef's Table series they go into depth about a chef;s background, personal experiences, inspirations behind their dishes and it is so interesting to hear about their creative journeys. So maybe more details about how you make creative decisions. Like, why did you choose to discard certain designs?, what draws you to certain color palates?, etc. Your marine science background obviously one area...maybe talk about that more. I think finding the intersection between your passions and that informing your designs is fascinating. I love nerdy science too, so if you ever want to go into technical details that is totally fine by me.

I SO appreciate this feedback, thank you!! I'm always trying to find a balance between explaining/over-explaining/under-explaining/totally forgetting to explain or film anything because I'm too focused on the work 🤣 I'm hoping to slow down a bit next semester and to work on these things. Thank you for always being so kind and supportive, it really means so much to me 🥹💕

I love it but can’t buy it because I am in Australia and postage theses days is often triple the cost of the item from the US but all your videos have given me so much information and joy to watch,I am a colour person so the bright colours are wonderful your Halloween collection was fantastic your bugs,bioluminescence,brilliant like you I don’t think your tropical quite got what you were after but hard when you were doing the bioluminescence alongside it ,keep up all your videos they are wonderful

Another thumb for your counter! Great job on the video. Ryan is cracking me up. The scarf looks like something that could be washed and hung for blocking, as it's large and heavy enough to make its own shape. Love the spoopy ware. What attracted me to your videos is the way you do things. I will never be a NY resident or a student in fashion school. I love going where you go and seeing how your life is going to progress. We share a lot of interests. I've been to a local sheep festival but seeing you go to such a huge venue was amazing! I love how your brain works and how you use it to live your life. Keep it up. @@AndreaAlexander Is there any way you can get to do more weaving while you are at FIT? It seems a terrible shame to have all those amazing looms and not be able to somehow use them in one of your up coming courses.
@AndreaAlexander
@AndreaAlexander Жыл бұрын
@@janemorrow6672 I know, it's a shame!! Next semester I'm taking a jacquard weaving course, which I believe is all on computers (and we then send our files out to be woven), and then I have a "thesis" collection where I can use whatever medium I want - so I'll probably try my best to figure out how to incorporate weaving into that!
