I’ve waited 4 years to see this update done fully to the extent you did :D loved the video and SO SO HAPPY to see the tree doing amazingly well ^.^ can’t wait to see the progress on it this year!!

Almost every bonsai practitioner: Well that was enough root pruning for this repotting. Nigel: min 4:23, Okey and now I can begin the root pruning. I love how bold you are Nigel!
@Bearbok2 жыл бұрын
This exactly! I can count on seeing one more trim at the end of a Nigel repot "to shorten" the long roots even though he has already taken off 75-90% of the root mass. I think Nigel's boldness is one of his biggest strengths but also sometimes his weakness. It's definitely inspiring on how to be bold

I’ve just bought two new lemon trees that I’m going to try and bonsai. I have just watched all your videos on your lemon tree. So informative, I have taken notes so I can attempt to get a tree as good as yours is. Thankyou for sharing.

Great surgical procedures from Dr. Saunders. I always marvel at the technique that the good doctor uses in working on the roots of the tree. Finished tree in pot turned out really nice.

Nigel; this has been a really good lesson with radial roots. I just know that lemon bonsai will do more than thrive. Thank you So much.

Watching you root prune both thrills and terrifies me! Then I look out at my baby trees and think "you don't know what you are missing!" A lovely tree, but it really shows how slow clip and grow really is to get a believable tree. Cheese makers think they need patience to age a cheese for 8-12 months, wine makers think 5-10 years; Nigel knows he needs 1-2 generations!

Hi nigel Ive had my lemon tree from a seed and is about 4 years old and this year in winter it has dropped mist of its leaves and a lot of dye back it did the same last year but it wasnt as bad Do you know what it could be
@tonylindsey43542 жыл бұрын
My lemon is twelve years old. No fruit yet, some take 15 years..anyways, if the air is very dry, the leaves may drop. Try not to overwater in winter also. Try a bowl of water under the branches and as much sun as possible. Good luck.

what is your temperature in your green house ? the soil temp and the temp around the tree with grow light on ? i ve read it has to be balanced soil temp min 55F for the roots to get activated ? and how close you keep the grow lights ? Thx
@TheBonsaiZone10 күн бұрын
The citrus trees are kept at 10 C all winter under a weak grow light. Once they warm up in spring, they resume growing. I have read that this is best for them!

I believe last year one of his lemon trees flowered for the first time and set fruit but the fruit was bumped and it fell off. It flowered when he brought the tree up from his basement in late winter early spring. I'm sure with that information you should be able to find the video in the playlist.
