Oooh,that's a nice flower too! You did a great job! This hibiscus it's very similar with "Hibiscus syriacus",but this is a deciduous shrub,however still very good for bonsai and its white and pink flowers.🙃💡♥️

Good morning, thanks for the rich video library . very much informative for us bonsai beginners. I was looking for an update on the silk floss cuttings and stump (7 months ago) since I bought one of 1 meter long and 8 cm diameter at the trunk and I am afraid to cut it short and loose it since it is hard to find it where I am specially with all this lockdowns sh...., by the way I copy some of your work with the same kind every time I watch a new video. I hope you don't mind.

The yellow hibiscus has a nice flower with the red throat. You will have to take cuttings to preserve the heritage of this flower so that you can get a nice little forest from them. The parent plant is your specimen plant. A real great looking bonsai.

id love one of those cuttings as usual haha...

You can pollinate your hibiscus yourself. Make a hybrid between you two plants to get a mix of the two.

You could have used the lowest branch you cut to create taper along the way with it and then cut it

Hi Nigel! Glad to see you work on hibiscus. I have one that I "rescued" from my own yard last year. It was a pair of shrubs sitting in a pot and constantly raided by squirrels that chewed off all shoots, and the plants were were sickly. In my attempt to separate and report them, I killed one, and the other hung in by a thread for a while before reviving. I now have it in a plastic container (here is a picture photos.app.goo.gl/LJdkknYkYCiGEKfz7 ), and am happy it's looking healthy again. I know I need to prune the long thick side trunks/branches down - but I am a bit scared of killing it. I think I'll do it in the spring. One down side of getting the tree healthy again is that the leaves have become much bigger! Also, I can never get the cuttings to root. Any tips?

That lowest branch (you cut) could be wired with the main trunk and after some time they could become one, main trunk. Just my thoughts... Anyway: nice pruning!

Absolutely not Sir, being a flowering plant, you need to look at this one in that context, and not in the context of Pine, Juniper or Banyan or any other similar large tree... Why you all Bonsai specialists look at every plant with same logic. Hibiscus plant 🌺 is different from Pine, Juniper, etc ... its a flowering plant, prune in such a way, that it gives more flowers 💐 ... Thankyou.
