You have absolutely said it all bout Botswana and life here,we are an upper middle income Country,I can say we do not have poverty in Botswana, people of lower socio Economic status are highly supported by a number of government programs which gives grants and or interest free loans to kickstart businesses etc,you won’t see high inequality gap in Botswana, the government emphasis on human socio development, the Country’s wealth benefits everyone, almost everything is free in Botswana,to mention a few, free education from a preschool to Tertiary of your choice(even overseas placement),monthly destitute allowances, monthly disability allowances, monthly home based care allowances, monthly orphan care allowances upto the age of 21,old age pensions, housing schemes for the unemployed and low salaried, free residential and farm lands at places of one’s choice,Botswana is what it is because it’s laws are practiced, corruption levels are the least in Africa,Gov does subsides on most commodities like for example due to the arid conditions of our land we import majority of our food stuffs from South Africa but groceries are way cheaper here than in South African stores, medical attention is free in both state owned and private hospitals(that is gov covers fees for private medical facility services to Citizens on specialized treatments ),the standard of living in Botswana surpasses even those of Countries like South Africa which is Africa’s largest economy, lots of things are localized like all our Mines are run and managed by Citizens,Botswana’s Diamond is cut polished by about 15 factories located in Gaborone and sold locally within the world’s biggest and tech advanced Diamond trading center where sight holders convene from over the world for the commodity,we got the least tax rates in Africa.I believe you have not seen slums nor shacks or the homeless persons or any informal form of settlement in Botswana during your stay, this is because none of the above exists in any part of Botswana including the capital City Gaborone, land allocation is free for both residential and commercial use, there is a lot to mention bout my Country.

Mr. Go black, what you saw in Botswana is what you will experience in all the Southern African countries. At least now some people will understand why we react when people experience west and east Africa then generalize the entire continent. We in the South get mad because the vibes are different. I have never eaten the worms in my life, only saw them once, but they are a traditional food in the nguni people, and oh the food too, it's typically the same throughout the South. I will visit West and East Africa in the near future, I need to move around Africa more.

@World Traveler Prayerfully one does not have to live in a country with a tyrannical government. Although it seems that most countries do have one in some form or at some time. Prayerfylly, those who have chosen the righteous path will not have to use guns to protect themselves but will be covered by the blood of Yeshua or the protective anointing of God uskng wisdom depending on the instructions one gets from the Spirit of Salvation within which have told some in times past to arm themselves while doing their daily duties as in tne book of Nehemiah to protect themselves from their enemies. Let the Creator God within be your guide always, and you will not go wrong. Peace, blessings and love.

Really is SA is the most industrialized country on the continent and the same can not be said about Botswana. So stop comparing your small country to SA please show some respect.
