With the VR1, are you using a cloudlifter or DM1/2 to get more clean gain to keep noise floor low?

No I just use the mic pre. The VR1 is in front of a guitar amp which has a decent level so i don’t use too much gain. And I also gain high and trim down to achieve optimal AD conversion. What do you use the VR-1 on?

You can put the VR1 so close ( touching the amp ) without any risk of breaking the ribbon?

It has gotten me through 50 shows so far without breaking… The amp is not that loud and not bass heavy…
