Had to get into my safe. I could not remember the model I have. After checking it is a Model 46B-B. Inherited from my dad. Shot it a lot in my early teens and had a lot of rabbit and squirrel dinners. Great shooter. Mine does not have the peep sight, but I noticed it is drilled for one. Have to search for one.

@WalnutandSteel True, I think I gave 175 for mine. It's missing the rear barrel sight but has the S-100 "swing" sight. It's missing the aperture which I need to order but shoots great without it. It also has a beautiful stock with burled grain which seems to belong on a much higher grade firearm. Fun guns. Thanks. By the way, I just took notice of your name "WalnutandSteel." I just finished reading through a couple books on vintage 22's called "Walnut and Steel." Any connection?

Super presentation, thanks. My model 44 US is a great rendition of Mossberg's efforts in the U.S. Army's training rifle program. I purchased this rifle in 1955 for the express purpose of high school target shooting from the NRA. It was purchased by my dad, new, unused and has never let me down as far as accuracy and quality of materials used in its construction. A testament to the workmanship and skill of yesteryear's rifle making skill. It is very dear to me.

30 years ago I had a cheap Mossberg bull barrel .22 lr. My brother visited me and had a beautiful high end .22, but I forget which model. I remember he paid a lot for it. Both rifles were scoped. We made a gentlemen's bet on which rifle could out shoot the other, and went to the range. I won that bet. 🙂

Don't know if you realize it but the trigger is pull weight adjustable . Lots of info about 46B (b) last of the 46B series with the most available options. Love mine especially the 20 plus one capacity for long rifle, can't remember how many shorts or longs ( definitely more than 20 )

I used to have a couple of mossberg 22smaybe you can explain them to me. 1. It was a tube feed with a manlicher stock plastic trigger guard quick release sling swivels that were inlaid into the stock and looked factory. Barrel sight with inter changeable options. Hooded front sight with 4 different posts and a swing out peep sight behind the receiver. Semi auto very accurate. 2. Clip fed semi auto the front of the fore stock folded down 90 degrees to the stock making it into a sort of a fore grip plastic trigger guard with finger grip. I don't have them anymore but would love some history on them. Best 22s I ever had love your videos thank you

Do you have a site that you use to get parts I picked up the 144 without a magazine. I will probably never sell them hopefully my who ever inherits them will have the same passion, love the 22 format my first was the grandfather's Springfield model 15. I shot so many groundhogs as a kid on a farm in Tennessee, my father gave me a marlin 60 when I was 11 still hunt with it never put a scope on it. I might have to 50 years later eye's are not like they used to be. Thanks for the memories keep up the great work

Do you have any suggestions for me on my Mossberg 46M(a) which fails to fire like 40 % of the time. I have cleaned the bolt and the chamber, and areas that mate up to the bolt. When I got the gun the tube magazine was missing and I bought one that was in good shape. I am missing the front removable strap clip, but the stock has a place for the spring clip to lock into it. Mine has a mossberg 331 rear peep which must be removed from gun to allow the bolt to be removed for cleaning. Not many old gunsmith’s who know these Mossys, and honestly I do not know that much about them…except I like ‘em and they are tack drivers.
