Thank you for putting these tips out, I found the hydraulic release but the break was still an issue. My dad passed away and I had no idea how to move it, hearing the break release was crucial to moving it (had a dead battery). Thank you so much

Great video, I would like to see a video changing the brake module that keep the mower from starting. Glad to view your video, drug my mower over 50 yards and was hoping like hell nothing else tore up.

Here is another scenario happened to my motor: the mower can start but it can not move forward or backward. After stopping it, you can hear the electric system clicking, kind randomly😮. What I did is checking the manual “Releasing the electric brake” section, and manually rotating the “link arms” forward/backward a few times. Note you just rotate the arms. One side is okay. After a few tries, it started moving 😊

You make fantastic videos! Just got the 54” coming next week. Is it true it you wash or hose off the entire machine you can fry the electronic brake or other electronics on the mower? Thanks!

The machines are basically waterproof, there are many of them down here in Florida that get rained on everyday. We also pressure wash the machines that are in for service. You’re fine to wash it, I would say less often is better just to avoid rust.

I have a toro time cutter 4200 , it just clicks once but won't turn over. I found those levers for brakes and pulled em out and it started. turned it off and had same issue lever are still out. is there something like an actuator that they connect to that coulkd be bad? I hear the motor that actuates when moving to park or handles in. even though it is actuating could it be bad still?

Sounds like your solenoid is bad

If you don't have any electricity you can't bypass the break to push it.

Yep, that seems like a huge oversight on their end. Even without my battery being off, the instructions on the back arent clear. You have to turn the key to disengage the Ebrake. So basically the prongs on the back are just for ease of pushing not a full proof method to push it without electricity.

My 2020 timecutter, unlocks the brake when I turn the key to on, which throws it in a safety mode, and won't allow it to turnover and start. Brand new brake box too, is there a reset on these things? Brand new starter solenoid and ignition switch too, just realized I can hear the brakes unlock with the key on.

Make sure the handles are all the way out, when you turn the key on in park, it should set it to park, then it should crank. Sometimes something is obstructing the handles from coming all the way out

I had that problem as well! A hickory seed ball fell in behind the bar keeping me from putting it in park. Took me 15 minutes to figure it out. Taught me a lesson to go back to basics and check everything carefully.

Yea I figured it out. I had put a new wiring harness on and put that connector on backwards

What if the battery is DEAD? It's in a connex box and can't easily get to battery to replace or jump

If you lay down on the backside you’ll be able to see the break box has two rods that extend to the hydros, you can pull the break gear off the hydros and tie it up with a zip tie

What about a Toro Bronco? I don't see a handle in the back of the mower to disengage the hydrolics. Do you have any idea how to disengage that one?

Sounds like it’s a Troy-Bilt Bronco. I don’t know for sure but probably the same idea

That Hydro is sealed and doesn’t require a hydro change, you don’t have to touch it. They are bullet proof and will literally be the last component on that machine to fail.

My Toro TIME CUTTER backfires when starting and sometimes when I shut it down. How do I fix this? PLEASE. THANK YOU.

You likely have either have a valve timing issue, failing fuel shut off solenoid or bad fuel. Backfiring is caused by unburnt fuel in the muffler any of these conditions can cause this, see a dealer for help

our lawn mower is so messed up after our neighbor kept fighting the controls trying to stop from sliding down a hill. the blades don't work because the neighbor ran over the floor mat that fell off. at this point i would send the mower out for repair and kindly ask the neighbor to pay for the repairs, but it's my dad's mower. from what i can gather fighting the controls really messed something up. a new brake module didn't solve the problem, so i wonder if the controls or transmission somehow got damaged from the neighbor trying to keep the mower from sliding down the hill. i am just guessing here and i could be totally wrong.

I don’t think fighting a hill would have damaged your hydros, but who knows. I would get that mower to a good mechanic/dealer I’m sure whatever it is can be solved.

The method is similar. There isn’t an electric brake so no need to turn the key on, just drop the brake and unload the hydros. The hydro release lever looks similar and is located in between the front on the rear wheels and the back of the deck
