Totally agree mate that it should have worthy touches, alloys, rear end look-spoiler & at least a sat nav/heated seats with a nice dynaaudio system as standard, but I will look forward to seeing your new wheels.

The 7.5 estate gets full led rears and working tips. You could always fit the later LED tails if you wanted.

Like it matey esp in white, thought one of these for the mrs new car but they're not bringing the estate to Canada (wagons as they call them here) alot of the good models seem to get missed here. I'll have to import one next time i go back to Leicester for a visit. Remap and dsg tune and exhaust will make that a beast

It’s not much longer than a golf but much more practical so can’t go wrong. Much more useful than a s3 saloon with its limited leg room

R77 DVR take a look at APR and Revo stage 1 plus dsg tune, Revo can be dialled back to stock ref warranty, may be found if looked for though! I have identical in black, also looking at changing wheels, been through most of what you've picked up on and now know a fair bit for what it's worth! 👍

Looking at one of these next. I have kids but still want the performance when appropriate. Great comment on the fake exhaust. I didn't know this was the case. I'm sure there's a decent reason (probably cost) to do this, but form follows function as they say. Soon enough all cars will be electric and have 4 exhaust tips on the back 🤯

Ive got the 7.5 R estate and i love it, a great all rounder had the 7 before it with the 6 speed DSG but the 7.5 has a 7 speed which i find a massive difference

Manual will always be better than any computer shifting for you and you can’t replace that engine braking through the gears,but of course that’s a lovely car all the same!

Great honest video! I am on the verge of buying one myself. Any issues youve had to be aware of? I'm looking at an early 2017 model with around 40k miles on it (70k kms), with lots of toys on it, in fact full spec minus leather (dont want anyway) and sunroof

Just got GTD estate. Very jealous of your golf R. I think they look better in estate form.

I went from a bran new 66plate focus rs to a new mk7. 5 r estate in red due to having a baby and the need for more room, comfortbable ride and more subtle ride. But I must say... I expected it to be wank compared to the rs in terms of performance.... But its not far off at all and all the other nice things more than make up for it.
