Sometimes the mangroves and that shallow water can be tough in Sanibel. Either ya gotta tough it out back there or move on out to some deeper water and see if that changes things up. You cant always get em in that shallow water. Try around the causeway bridge when things get rough!😎

Awesome man! Yeah I’ve never had a tough time out there as far as finding the fish. Just with finding some where to fish that every one isn’t fishing.

5 second break very good idea...Move your second rod to the other side of kayak to free up your backcast helps me

Man, I just needed a breather. That fish came out of no where and the video doesn't do it justice, really doesn't show how close he was.

Love Sanibel. Tarpon bay, Ding Darling, Bowman's. It's all great.

I agree man. There’s not a bad place to visit or fish. We try to go every year.

Gonna have to take the yak down south. Looks like it was a fun day on the water. Tight lines. 🤙🏼

Nice redfish! Where is the kayak launch at Bowmans? How far is the parking from the launch?
@RJOnTheFly Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! It’s actually in the parking lot, if you follow the road back to the second lot back it’s got a path that goes back to the launch.

@@RJOnTheFly OK great thanks. I normally put in at Castaways and fish further north of there. Great drone work.

@@tonyelmore2167 thanks again brother. I’ve fished here and Ding Darling from the yak. I’d like to get around a little more when I’m back down for sure.

Great video. Just got back from our annual vaca to Sanibel. My wife is cool and lets me fish while they shell. Caught Snook, sea trout, redfish, spanish mackerel, Jack, lady fish, whiting, & catfish. Had a blast.

That’s awesome brother. Yeah man I do about the same thing. It’s one of my favorite places to fish in Florida.

@@RJOnTheFly I’ve never been in the summer. I’m guessing it’s HOT
@RJOnTheFly2 жыл бұрын
@@klamont9 it is man but the bite is so good morning and evening. That warmer weather has those fish really active in the summer, I don’t mind the heat at all but 10 hours in 90 plus degrees does eventually wear on me.

Bro nothing beats watching it get eaten. Feel like a kid on Christmas every time. Lol.

Also, the drone is a Mavic air 2. It’s an awesome drone and very durable. I’ve crashed it more times than I like to admit.

well this might have not aged well... is the spot still there?

I know man. It’s a lot more sandy from what I’ve seen back there and a lot of those houses took a lot of damage.

How much did that Hobie run you? I’ve always been interested in buying something similar used to save some money lol
@RJOnTheFly2 жыл бұрын
To be honest I got a steal. I bought it used for 1700 which is still expensive for a kayak but it’s super worth it. You can find some of the older outbacks on Craigslist and FB marketplace for 500 sometimes, I set up an alert that went to my phone when someone posted it so I’d be first when the one I wanted came up. They’re expensive as crap but totally worth it in my opinion.

@@RJOnTheFly I have an older 12.5’ Hobie Quest paddle kayak but I haven’t had the chances to go nor a consistent method of transporting it I gotta make it happen or sell it and save up for something like a pedal drive
