Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video we are talking Medik8 skincare and working out whether this higher priced skincare brand has a place in your skin care routine. Medik8 review.
When it comes to skincare and my own skin care routine I am pretty drugstore and so I wont be paying higher prices when I can get the same results elsewhere. Medik8 are a higher priced brand but one which I think delivers something which the rest of the skincare market are not which is why I am willing to pay a little more to get my hands on their products.
In this Medik8 reivew I want to share with you the best and worst products from Medik8 to work our whether any of them deserve a place in your skin care routine.
Medik8 are probably best known for their crystal retinal serum and their liquid peptides but there is so much more to the brand than these products and I want to share with you some of my skincare favourites.

@Yvonne Mutton I actually don't have any views on BP, as I've never used them. I am very curious, however. I've heard their products are really good quality. Are they cruelty free? That's super important to me

TY for this! Reaffirming my splurges haha I love medik8. As someone that has enough damaged skin to actually see a significant and fast change when using skin products I cannot rave about medik8 enough. I have sensitive skin and I also enjoy the skincare experience so many other brands products(even same pricepoint) hurt my skin and the experience is not fun (think stinky, sticky, pills etc)so I am not giving up my medik8 until I reach my skincare goals and then maybe i will dial back to just maintenance for budgetary purposes. Love your content! Ty!

Use the entire line, it is hands down the best skin care line I have ever used. The results far out weigh costs. Customer service is simply the best as well

Hi Rob! Love your content as always! What’s your opinion on the Vitamin C and Retinal from Medik8 compare to G&G? They are both in your recommendations… but the difference in price point for the same concentration of the active ingredients… What’s your thought on this? Would you prefer one over the other? ❤️

Love Medik8 - results are amazing! A couple of products go along way for me… crystal retinal and oil cleanser are my favorites…

Hello Rob! Thank you for the video! I stumbled upon your channel a week ago and just couldn't stop watching your videos:) As for the Medik8 brand, I only used their Advanced Night restore cream (great cream for dry skin: rich, a bit thick but didn't clogged my pores) and Crystal Retinal 3 which I keep enjoying (I'm finishing my 2nd bottle). I looked for a retinol/retinal serum without fragrant components and citrus oils and I must say Crystal Retinal barely smells like anything as well as doesn't irritate my skin. I happy with it and will soon upgrade to 6;)

Hi Rob. I love Medik8 peptides and Crystal Retinal, they make my skin glow. I'm not keen on their C Tetra products as they feel a bit heavy and greasy on my skin but some people love them.

Hi Rob! Could you do reviews on some mid-range drugstore brands such as Ren, Ole Henriksen, Murad, Vichy etc? They are also available in Boots/ Drugstore… but in the more mid-range price point. Would love to hear your opinion on that! Thank you 🧡

Crystal retinal 3, eye lightening eye cream, liquid peptides, pha toner, sleep glycolic, night cream, a different eye cream, calmwise color correct. No bad experience with them so far. Just started using their Bha with tranexamic acid (too early for a definite opinion, but feels really lux). Top three recommendations: Calmwise color correct moisturizer, liquid peptides, sleep glycolic. ❤❤❤

I discovered Medik8 from a dermatologist when in Australia. I love it! I have since introduced some US friends to it. I’m happy with all products - surface cleanser, C-tetra day cream, and vitamin A night ritual. And, I just started also using crystal retinol #6. While the products seem pricey, they aren’t when compared to other products of similar quality. Just know that your body absorbs 80% of whatever you put on your skin. So, you don’t want to put junk on your skin.

Like Medik8 vitamin C, retinal and SPF, have been looking for videos about them to see how people combine them with other product brands because I combine to reduce expenses - cleansing and night cream from other brands. Medik8 made me like my skin look like never before!

Thank you Rob. I love their retinal cream (I use strength 3). Also using night eye cream and restoring night face cream and both are ok. I got very disappointed with their spf creams. The one for eyes behaves awfully under make up and the face one leaves waxy residue 😢 I also didn’t like the liquid peptides as the texture is too sticky for me. I also wanted to buy the day eye cream that depuffs but realised it’s tinted 😠why! why would you tint it when you know there are so many different skin colours. So not going to be my next buy

Seems like a brand with a lot of thought behind the ingredients. I honestly never went on their website due to the price of their retinal. I like the price of K-beauty products. Right now I'm out of work, so only shopping in my own closet. Many blessings!💖💖💖

I’ve had a horrible glycolic acid physical scrub. Wrecked my face for days lol but I am very interested in their retinAL eye. I just don’t know which strength to start with. Thanks for doing this I’m excited to watch it

Start at strength 3, how did it wreck your face if you don’t mind me asking. Have you been consistent since if so I bet you have amazing visible results 😊

@@michelleniayton6378 because it was a combination of a physical scrub and an acid. It left me with red patches. I’ve gone onto alpha H liquid gold. I’ve no sensitivity to retinal though I use tret on my face. Yes it would be sensible to start at 3, but so expensive if it’s not much different to the beauty of Joseom at that strength .. but you’re right better safe than with flaky eyes

I loved every product from medik8, the cleansers are maybe my least favourite. But my holy grail product from them is c tetra (not luxe not ferulic) just normal vit c is so so so good. It is the only product i’m never taking out of my routine

Thanks Rob for another great review - have been following you for some time! I've found the Medik8 Crystal 10 Serum is a little hard to spread (even on damp skin) so I end up using 3 pumps. How many pumps do you normally use?

@@angelascott4073 Yes, that's what I thought. I definitely apply tretinoin on dry skin but I find the Medik8 hard to spread. How many pumps do you normally use?

@@davidsotir4318 I’m on number 3 and use one pump, let it soak in and then I use Belif moisture bomb on top. You could possibly mix it with your night cream for spread ability

I also use their Retinal 10 and I use one pump for the face and another one for neck and chest( but sometimes I have to add a little bit more because to that parte because of that same issue you point out...).

@@angelascott4073 Thanks for your reply - much appreciated. I see other users have experienced issues with spreadability. I was always under the impression that mixing products isn't recommended as it changes the pH of each one and therefore its ability to penetrate the strata corneum. I find the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 10 is better formulated for spreadability and doesn't contain fragrance.

Before I discovered Geek & Gorgeous, I bought a tube of Crystal Retinal 6. It works fine, I really like retinal ... but it's fragranced, and I don't like the smell. I don't mind light fresh scents, but this has a heavy rose scent, and it puts me off using the product. It's also tinted pink (iron oxides), which gives no benefits to the skin, and I could do without.

I must disagree about the Medik8 sunscreen. They’re certainly pricey but the finest ingredients ever! I’m obsessed with the Advanced Day Ultimate Protect and it’s my holy grail. It is so much more than any sunscreens out on the market. It’s the most dewy and luxurious moisturizing cream packed with good stuff, blue light protection, anti-pollution and the highest uv protection. No white cast and all day hydration even in winter, it’s all I religiously apply on my skin.

@@michelleniayton6378 That's under the false assumption that you cannot look after your skin without specifically buying medik8, which I've seen no evidence for and even seems to be Rob's philosophy. Unless you're a medik8 salesperson.

I love Medik8, I'm 3 tubes into Retinal 6, with a Retinal 10 in waiting. I also did pretty well with their Tetra-C. I didn't do so well with their PHA though (which I thought was weird, because it's supposed to be gentle but my skin hated it). Great video! Your skin looks lovely here x
