I traveled to LA for a KZfaqr conference organized by Google. Erin and I spend the weekend after in Venice and Santa Monica to have some fun and talk about my new startup. I talk about fundraising, upcoming plans to develop my startup's platform prototype, work-life balance, and the importance of working in teams. After that, we follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger by working out in Gold's gym. Arnold started working out there in the 1970ties when he became Mr. Olympia and still works there every day after almost 50 years.

What I didn't share is that year I was on an ok job doing ok. Then, I watched your video on living in Switzerland while being a PhD at MIT and I realized I was out of track. I was top of my class in math at high school, top of my class in my bachelors and now simply doing ok. I believe your content do inspire other people to change. At least it made the difference for me. I truly wish you the best on your startup/PhD jouney. Thank you

Expected financial returns on doing a startup is horribly low, if you take into account diminishing utility of money, and instead calculate expected "utility" of the returns from the startup, the number decreases even more. That said, you have one life, do whatever you want. Biggest risk is not taking any risks.
