In this episode, I navigate a busy day balancing my MIT PhD project, preparing a startup pitch at Harvard in front of VCs, and dealing with the stress of my upcoming move to Manhattan. On top of this, I'm planning a spontaneous trip to the AfricaBurn festival in South Africa. For the first time, I give a peek into my startup, Casemind, which seeks to revolutionize the legal industry using AI. The day concludes with a fun all-you-can-eat BBQ experience with my gym bros and sharing exciting updates about Casemind and my new Discord server.

Good job Samuel! Could you explain more how you cross-registered at HBS and MIT? What kind of classes are you taking at HBS? How many of them you have to take? How does HBS affect your PhD courses/research?

Thank you Nicolas, it's quite easy to cross-register when you're at MIT. I took Advanced Negotiations and a startup class this semester. Before that I also took entrepreneurial sales. It doesn't take to much time, so it doesn't affect my PhD at MIT

Hey Sam, I feel like I have kind of messed up. I'm a 2nd year bachelors student of business at one of top unis in Poland and academic standards are strongly subpar, I don't feel like I'm learning a lot, difficulty is always very easy. I could be a good programmer, but I am here to change myself into a person that's got people-skills. (I was huge nerd). I'm finally starting to get what I wanted, and I could be easily e.g. in McKinsey in 1-3 years. (at most after finising masters). I can continue studies in e.g. Finance + CS at another uni (also one of the best ones in PL). But my heart is always in start-ups. I could stop the education and focus on some start-up - let's say the next one goes sideways again, and then before 3 years pass maybe one will take off somewhat. Or I can do it after a year at MBB. What's your take on it - what would you do? I know it's not an easy question :)

I'm also very much interested in physics and planning to do undergraduate study in it, after telling about my interest in physics , most of my well wishers asked about employment opportunities. They are worried about it. Can you please tell me about job opportunities for an physics undergrad. It means a lot if u could reply

Make sure to learn how to code really well, so you have the backup option of working as a engineer. With physics alone you're in danger of having very limited career options :)

Hmmm I haven't really thought about any crowdsourcing/funding. I guess it is an option, although just getting money from VCs does seem a bit easier. Will definitely discuss this option with my co-founders, as we never talked about it 🙂

@@SamuelBoschMIT There’s quite a bit of bias against startups that have people in the cap table from crowdfunding rounds. You should go with VC money if possible, because it’s going to make future funding rounds A LOT easier. Keep the cap table as small as possible and find partners that are invested long-term and understand your business and timeline. Professional investors typically have a longer investment horizon compared to retail investors, and that’s what you’re looking for.

Dude, invest start up money in bitcoin now. Forget the start up, sit back and few years you will thank me. No stress just concentrate Phd and investing. No headache. Jesus how many supplements?? All you need is eating healthy diet then multi vitamin, cod liver oil, creatine, pre work out, whey protein and the odd anti oxident smoothie few times a week.
