In my head canon the reason you are a vassal is because your dyslexia kicked in and you miss read the contract terms they gave you.

The ending with the fleets of the entire galaxy coming together gave me some serious Mass Effect vibes, with Commander Shepard leading a united galaxy to Earth for the final confrontation with the Reapers. Amazing

It was very cool to see all the fleets of the galaxy coming together to fight the Scourge. I've never seen that before in Stellaris, and it's really great.

For the Declaring war on yourself bug, check your vassals defensive pacts. There may be a conflict with the "join vassals wars" because they may be getting pulled into the war against you which is pulling you in on the wrong side of the war.

Hey lath, I'm gonna leave a comment and a like for the algorithm. I do have a request if you are looking at comments. If you are super super busy. It is fine, you do not need to do this buuuut... I demand pet content if you are working on long playthroughs. Bribe us with pictures of your exotic pets! We love the pictures :D I think what we have seen up till now has been frogs, snakes, turtle(?), Spiders... Perhaps your ant colony next? It's absolutely fine if you can't.

When I last played, my allies genuinely helped me multiple times; in one scenario they intercepted a marauder fleet in my territory, in other situations they actually joined my fleets AND attacked from various flanks on empires I was at war with. For some of the very first times in Stellaris, I honestly looked at some of my allies and wanted to defend and keep them as allies PURELY because I actually liked them

So.... when are we getting an animated Lathrix? For future Lathrix.. I really would love to see it!

you know, that "A Broken Empire" event, I'm starting to think it's pre-determined by the game so that you always have a form to escape free from the overlord in the imperial fiefdom start

I know your theme is being the 'good' guy Lathrix, but I've gotta say I was not prepared for "I love this portrait cuz it looks like they are in pain- and at the same time they're adorable :D!" and that really just fuckin sent me for a good minute

I adore that they've added and expanded vassal mechanics, it was such a fun part of EU4 that you could start as an OPM amidst larger empires, or as a vassal of one to be safe but controlled, trying to break free and figure out how to overcome the Very Hard AI's inherent numerical advantages through good old human inventiveness.

I love how Hyper Relays allow the road-building itch to be well-scratched. Getting them much earlier than Gates means they will get deployed abundantly. You can even lay out speedways to Gate sites so you'll have a proper hub-and-spokes layout, should you desire. Thank you for the playthrough, Lathrix!

Man, who knew that Stellaris could be wholesome

I adore we're still getting new DLCs in this game, especially liking these thematic ones. And thank you Lathrix for covering it all, it's always darn amazing to see.

I wondered if Lath would find the exploits or play as the developers intended :) Didn't take long to find out. Nice to have a free bunker bot upgrade from the lord. Also I can imagine another Lath super defensive run using a bulwark 😁😆. Something in the spirit of the massive defence starbases which kept the crisis out.

Another great playthrough. I really enjoy all of them, and enjoying your continued commitment to create content - especially in the Stellaris universe. And another note - some of the most amazing playthrough for me have been the ones with the Mega Engineering Mod, which I also enjoy myself a lot. Have you considered after you completed a playthrough, to do another followup episode loading up either the final save, or multiple saves during your playthrough and explain a bit deeper or reflect on your empire build etc.? I think that could be interesting to see how you build the planets, which mega structures you have, the crazy output etc. Plus you will have an "easy" way of adding additional content on your channel of an already existing playthrough. You might also learn something from reflecting on your own playthrough 😊

I was waiting for this video so much! =D Something funny about Bulwark subjects, if you build the Overlord building that syhpons basic resoucers, the subiside you need to pay them reduces significantly. Its very usefull

Really love these full playthroughs!

They added some Mercenary Enclaves capacity to some underpowered civics ( Barbaric Despoilers and Warrior Culture both give 1 for example ), so you can really push them as a way to powerup your empire somewhat early depending on your style. Although, Paradox capped the research dividends they give to 5k, because that part was a bit silly.

I've been waiting for this one. You did pick the same start as MATN, but I can't blame you, since that's really the sensible way to dive into the new mechanics.

By the time it got to those battles near 1:48:00 in the video, it was getting impossible to tell which side was truly the Scourge, that flood of ships from the allies was crazy!

As someone who likes this series and would love to see it continued I'd still find it better for everybody to get some sleep And mabe straighten their posture and grab some water

I've also had a bug involving the relay's where if a fleet jumps in during a war, they strangely don't attack and act as though they were a starbase and had shoddy accuracy when engaging in the fight.
