A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Medik8 to trial their new 12 Weeks to WOW skincare programme. In this film, I am experiencing my first Medik8 professional peel and over the coming 12 weeks I will have a series of six in-clinic peels to help me on the path to perfecting my skin.

The therapist who did Caroline’s treatment is brilliant, so articulate and knowledgable. I’ve been thinking about starting the Medik8 retinol and had no idea about this peel programme! I hope they have a clinic in NI because I need all the cell death 🤣

Absolutely fascinating film Caroline, I would love to try this myself but am too far away sadly. My previously very well behaved 53 year old skin has suddenly become more wrinkled, blotchy, pigmented and has a rougher texture with open pores. I've always looked after it with very decent quality products, avoided the sun, not smoked and drink plenty of water so it's been a bit of a shock! Anyway, I can't wait to see the future results of your treatments. Look forward to your films every Saturday morning, they are so fab!

Few weeks ago i took the plunge.. 1st time user of retinols im 45 .. about time.. fell in love w medik8 philosopy and jumped right on the r -retionate range... my thinking was its all in one easier for a newbie.... costly yes.. but no irritation.. its been 2 weeks since i started and my skin feels beautyful and complete somehow... over time i hope to see less of my ageing wrinkles.. we can always hope💜 anyway look forward to see your journey w medik8.

This video spurred me on to order a medik8 serum, which i'd been wanting to do for quite some time. Pity Caroline's reduction didn't work as i live in France but i went and ordered the C30 serum anyway! Am hoping it will give good results

Brilliant and informative video, I use some of their products atm, but I would like to know is the Daily Radiance Vit C SPF30 a high enough SPF whilst using 0.05% retinol, and would I use this cream as my last step over my moisturiser or in place of?

Hi Lesley, yes, SPF 30 will provide adequate sunscreen protection for the daytime. Your SPF should be the last step in your morning regime for ultimate protection 🙏

I FULLY support every person’s right to do whatever he/she wants to feel better and more confident; that being said, I feel as if this type of skin care regimen is a bit of a rabbit hole...with regards to time, commitment, and money . Perhaps I’ll take the “plunge” one day, but for now I’m okay with simply living vicariously through videos such as yours. 👍

Hi Kristine. I understand'it is expensive to get that 1 year of peels I am sure. Also with Medik8 Caroline is not playing around! I live in Maine USA and I'd buy their advanced Retinaldeyde if money was no object. That said, a more affordable approach is doing at home prels. There is a fantastic lady who owns Platinum Skin Care. She has KZfaq instructional videos on many of their peels. I have used them for an under eye peel...it was helpful for sure. Just in case you are interested. 😉

Thank you so much for this informative video. I use several Medik8 products already (incl r-Retionate and the super C serum mentioned) and am very satisfied with the results. There’s no clinic close to me that offers the treatments, are there any home-care products that can achieve a similar peel results? (I realize they’re unlikely to be as effective)

You're correct. Unfortunately, you will not be able to generate the same results at home as to what an in-clinic professional peel would achieve, due to acid concentrations. However, by incorporating AHA's and BHA's within your home care routine will help to generate smoothness, even texture, and radiance along-side your current 'CSA' routine. Are you based in the UK? I wish I was lying down there right now, how relaxing 😊. I love using Medik8 Crystal Retinal, I started with the mid strength one and now use 10. I've had zero irritation which makes me so happy as I have dry skin. It's pricey but worth it for the lack of issues, it lasts me ages too so it's not too bad value wise. Have a lovely weekend.

@@vanefreja86 well funnily enough I've stopped using it since I found Geek & Gorgeous's one which is more than half the price! Medik8 lasted me about 4 months I think and I used it most days, I did have to cut the tube and scrape the product out, (I transferred it to a pot), as there is a lot of waste when the product stops pumping out, like most things you can get several weeks worth more use by doing that 😃

@@vanefreja86 It's early days in my use of it but I'm getting on fine with no irritation so far. My main skin issue, apart from aging, is dryness/dehydration which I think is classed as sensitive skin. It seems quite mild. It's cheap enough to give it a try I reckon, good luck with whatever you decide to use 😃

Strangely, I felt quite relaxed watching that. I do wonder how the neck and chest play catch up over time, if the peels are only applied to the face. 🤔 It’s all still so new to us. Which is the best ‘beginner’ retinol product in the Medik8 range? I’d like to try to incorporate one into my regime as we’re coming into winter where I live so easier to start. Thank you for taking us along with you. Very interesting.

Lil Rockapotamus I know I wanted Lav to do the whole area but you have to do each part separately to ensure you can remove in time. Lav has such a relaxing voice 😊 I would suggest R- Retinoate this is the one I stared with but I’m sure Medik8 will answer your question too

Hi there! Yes, rretinoate Day and Night is a great place to start as it suits all skin types and doesn't need any kind of phase in. You can use it twice a day from the get-go. Always remember SPF in the day though 💙

Hi, we recommend applying a quarter of a teaspoon - more is more with SPF! It is absolutely safe to use vitamin A in the summer months, the key to using it safely is sunscreen. We have a whole blog post if you'd like to learn more on medik8.com/blog 💙

Enjoyed the video, interested to see the progress over the 12 weeks. I have been thinking of trying Medik8 Retinol for a while now. I have tried The Ordinary Retinol in Squalene with no particularly noticeable results. I appreciate that Medik8 is a completely different product but which Retinol would they suggest I start with. I currently use Lactic Acid, Niacinamide & Moisturiser in the evening so would I continue with these products and add in Medik8 Retinol or simple use the Medik8 &moisturiser? I am 65. Thank you. 💐💐

Hi Gwen. You'll be fine to carry on use with your products with the addition of our Crystal Retinal 3 at night. For the best results, I would recommend, cleansing with Surface Radiance Cleanse which combines exfoliating acids such as mandelic, lactic and salicylic for a resurfaced, radiant complexion. Clarity Peptides which is a 10% Niacinamide-infused peptide serum, provides hydration whilst restoring natural luminosity in the skin. Lastly, Crystal Retinal 3, which uses the vitamin molecule Retinaldehyde working 11x faster on the skin than the basic forms of retinol. You can then follow with your moisturiser. 💙

Hey there I wonder if we use to many things on our skin and that is why we have problems with it I c u use only vitamin c , SPF , and retinol do u think that is enough for the skin as in a routine or should we be using more acid etc hylaronic etc cheers hoping sumone can answer cheers

We fully support keeping skincare simple, it's great to know you are already using our CSA Philosophy as a regime. Vitamin C + Sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night. You can add additional products to this to treat specific concerns eg, blemishes, pigmentation, dehydration etc - it all depends on what your skin needs at that time and adapting your regime to it 💙

I have tried to find a Skincare Clinic in Norway that use Medik8. I can not find any. I have also fallen in love with Medik8, and R-Retionate have not irritated my dry, mature skin.All these products are wonderful. Especially the Ultimate recovery mask. I have used it after sun bathing and after hair removal with laser.I also love the UK, but unfortunately I can't go to you for 12 weeks to peel my skin.Do anyone know if someone here in Norway offers this? Ps:You are such a big inspiration Caroline! Looove your channel!

Michaele Madden this was one of my questions as I would like all these areas renewed but became of how quickly the peel develops you can’t treat a larger surface area as if the skin became irritated you wouldn’t be able to remove it quickly enough...
