My Problem with Marvel Movies

Not my usual content, but I was sat watching the latest movie and was like I NEED TO TELL SOME ONE ABOUT THIS. So here it is: what could make marvel movies good?
0:08 - 1 - Some should beat others. Properly.
2:04 - 2 - Fights mean nothing!
4:29 - 3 - Not much variety between Avengers (They're mostly interchangeable!)
5:32 - 4! - No lasting consequences
I didn't want to dilute the video with off-topic stuff, but I'll mention here that I DON'T hate Marvel, or the movies. I understand that they're exciting family-friendly entertainment and that it wouldn't benefit them to become like WATCHMEN (Which is one of my favourite movies ever). And I also understand that you may find instances to argue with any of the points I mention. But these are all general feelings I've grown to expect from Marvel movies when walking into the cinema to watch a new one, and were things that kept cropping up during the latest Avengers movie.
That being said, I do think Thanos was a step in the right direction, but for a company that can't even keep Thor eye-less, I don't expect them to be able to keep half their lucrative heroes dead.

I think it would be more helpful, if they would switch to 48FPS Cameras. There is stuff in Avengers moving too fast, that it just looks like a mess. (or its the Projector in the cinema. But its a BIG cinema. so I don't think so)

People often criticize me for wanting good logic and sound reason in movies. "It's a movie about flying people with super human strength, and you have a problem with their plot and logic?" Yes. I do.

I totally agree. I can tolerate some (minor) plot holes...but so many popular movies nowadays have terrible storytlling and world-building and most viewers don't really seem to care. These film studios (Marvel for example) can do whatever they want and people are gonna watch it and love it anyway. It's actually pretty sad.

Movies don't have to make sense by real world standards, but it's so annoying they they aren't consistent with the rules and boundaries they set up themselves.

He explained him well enough imo. He said every movie feels the same, they all rely too much on special effects, and he criticized the cult-like behaviour of marvel fans by saying that it's weird how actors are applauded not for their acting capabilities but for the costume they are wearing and how people think it's commendable to idolize super heros. He also said that Marvel movies have no depth and only focus on looking cool. Dunno how that's not a good explanation for not liking Marvel movies.

Because it’s not what MCU fanboys want to hear. I don’t like (most) Marvel movies either, coincidentally for the reasons you just mentioned, but also for: 1. Too much focus on Tony Stark. 2. Too deviant from the source materials. 3. Why in the hell is EVERYONE a freaking comedian? 4. Villains are as bland as Corn Flakes but if they do get popular enough, they’ll just be made into heroes (Winter Soldier and Loki) And guess what? I still got hate for listing my reasons as to not liking them. So again, it’s not for a “lack of reason” for not liking them, it’s just that fanboys don’t wanna hear anything against their little kiddie movies

I was brought in to watch Avengers by a couple of my colleagues when it came out. Think it was the 2nd last one. I must say I simply don't get the appeal. The aesthetics reminds me of McDonalds playground and the plot of some 13yr old writing an essay. Like for instance this guy Thanos wants to destroy half of humanity or something. And he needs all the stones to do so. Turns out that this vision guy has one of the stones all along and that it can be destroyed. But instead of sacrificing that one super-hero for the sake of humanity itself, they prefer just risking. They end up killing half the population and Vision dies anyways. Good job

Vision is powerful, but you have to realize in infinity war he was hurt near the beginning of the film and never completely healed, also he has the stone halfway ripped out of his head when he was fighting. So there was a reason he was weak in this film.

Lmao vision is just a terrible character, let’s be honest. They took ultron, sorta cool, And they took Jarvis, who was already cool, And they made a useless character who gets a weird love interest as a random background storyline. Please, please, prove to me he is a worthwhile character, and that ruining Jarvis was worth it.

6:00 The eye thing was actually set up since Rocket (the raccoon) have said in GotG that his hobby was collecting body parts (in what scene I forgot but it also had a spare body part involved). Everything else, I agree.

The fun part about Thor getting his eye back was because it was consistent with what happened in the guardians of the galaxy movie where rocket actually stole an eye from a guy so it made sense. I agree with most of what you said though.

Exactly. The main thing I dislike is that the avengers are basically invinsible in some instances, and then weak in others. It's like they adjust their strength depending on the plot line. edit : yeah you basically addressed that point. Everything you said is something that's bothered me a bit. Glad you articulated it.

Try The Defenders super series on Netflix. It consists of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, and of course, The Defenders. It's a much more mature take on a certain corner of the MCU with real purpose and consequence to the action

Always see this one about vision which I disagree with. At the start of the movie he got stabbed and said he was unable to phase making him pretty weak. And towards the end the infinity stone had been partly removed from him, which is where he usually got the majority of his abilities from. Again making him weak.

I completely agree with your points phillip, especially on how they apply to DC movies/justice league. Oh god.. It's like every hero is completely untouched by anything(except batman, he's a bit like DC's Captain America.. I wonder why he's liked more?), like superman is literally that, completely untouchable, wonder woman + shark boy is literally gods and that go very fast guy whatever the name while being very cool and almost solo carrying the movie is also kinda invincible. Together they fight invincible vilians that beat everyone up without actually hurting them, until suddenly superman kicks in and out-invincible's him or something. Why can't heroes have character, actually take damage which leaves scars and such.. I see no reason why not, and it's really damn annoying.

Never particularly liked Quicksilver or AOU in general but in Quicksilver's death scene he actually went and pushed a car in front of Hawkeye to block the bullets instead of being a meatshield. That said the bad editing makes everything confusing and it really did look like a stupid death (plus if he was a meatshield the bullet holes on his body would mean the bullets passed through and still hit Hawkeye). Other than that I gotta say I agree with almost every point you raised, nice video as always

I love the MCU, but you've got some fair points, only thing I'd argue with is that Rocket for sure would have a spare eye lying around, in the two guardians movies he's shown to have a thing (fetish?) for taking artificial limbs/organs, and I think it was pretty consistent for his character. He even wanted Bucky's arm in the same movie, remember?

nothing too bad was said, but a spoiler alert would have been nice, i havent seen infinity war is all. overall im inclined to agree with all you said, except for one important detail. i love marvel movies because theyre silly intense action movies, thats it, and i think others may agree. i wouldnt mind some more complex plots and such but as it stands im pretty happy with what theyve made, i dont watch it to work my brain, i watch fun action movies to shut it off for a bit.

What I liked about Civil War's final fight was that Iron Man's unibeam is known as the most powerful weapon he has and rarely uses. In Civil War when he finally used it out of desperation it causes something real that we weren't expecting.

TEKKEN characters usually don't have projectiles/lasers/any of that sort. (Some do but those moves are useless) That's more of a 2D fighter thing. (Street Fighter for example) Also, Tekken's characters are all unique... to a certain extent. Some differ more from the imaginary "generic" character and some differ less, but they all have unique fighting/play styles. (Except reskin characters from the older games) Not thay any of my points were important, just something a Tekken nerd like me wanted to point out. Good video.

Marvel action is great, because of its implementation of dialogue and character into the action. Especially in Civil War. But I absolutely agree that we need Avenger hierarchy, with each character providing different assets.

I love them to death but I think I agree with you on why I love captain America the most. He’s extremely vulnerable and while he’s amazing in a one on one, he struggles with groups.
