Smooth silkiness in their voices just oozing out of their entire inner soul. Love the blue eyed soul Righteous Brothers. A duo made in heaven.

Bobby Hatfield’s voice is off the scale. His vocal range is astounding. I’m not just judging from this footage. He has the best voice I have ever heard. RIP Bobby x

thing is they actually performed this song on Shindig, however what you just watched was the studio version that was dubbed in because they wanted to remove all the screaming girls that were there. Look around and you can find the live one

The most played song on the radio in the 20th century done by one of the greatest duos ever in the history of music. This 1965 performance was produced and staged by Phil Spector's 'Wall Of Sound.' He helped create the 'Righteous Brothers' blue eye soul sound. The rest as they say is history....

This is the most played song of the 20th Century. The Phil Spector 'Wall of Sound' is used extremely well in this song.

Oh lawd…when people mention this is the most played song in radio I can say I know because unfortunately it was the first song to come on as I was driving away from my high school sweetheart & love of my life breaking up with me. I had to pull over into a grocery store, in the dark parking lot & bawl my eyes out. 😧 15 years later he found me & we have been together another 17 years but I still feel the feels when I hear this song. Sometimes he gets a dirty look when I have my headphones on & doesn’t know why 😂

This is my favourite video of the boys, as you say the silhouettes, with Bobby sitting there patiently waiting 'his turn' and the music and heavenly choir in the background ... it's almost like a classic film noir scene. It's my favourite of their duets, especially the bit at the end where they're rocking out and Bobby really unreins himself, just fab! Looking back over the years, they really were quite unappreciated, Bobby did some great solo material, he was really something special, with his dulcet, seductive siren's voice in Unchained Melody and Ebb Tide and yet he could rock with the best. Have you listened to What's the Matter, Baby, his cover of the Timo Yuro classic? I love hearing our sweet Bobby getting mad! :D

I like that you appreciated the direction! I also love the lighting and choreography and momentum, much more creative than the other live performances of this song you see on YT. This performance was from "Shindig"--a tv show with one hit musical act after another, most with elaborate presentations, background singers and go-go dancers. If you search YT for Righteous Brothers on Shindig, there are at least 20 other clips, all great, showing what energy and charisma they had; Bobby's effervescent joy evident in every syllable. The b&w footage of Bobby singing Unchained Melody (no pink suit) is from Shindig also.

A side note about this particular performance Chad. As you can see toward the end, as the lights in the background come up; the background singers included a little known singer named Cherilyn Sarkisian or “Cher”.

At least back in my day the videos were real, real singers, real bands, orchestra, unlike today where its all fake, even singers voices, computer generated music, todays music has no soul and no real talent. its all made up to make the quick buck. sad, very sad.

@@lynw1623 I don't distinguish greatness between artists, Elvis changed music and culture around the world, his influence inspired the Beatles, the rolling stones and he opened all doors for blues and gospel artists in this country. Even Bill medley was one of best friends.
