I am a full- blood Zuni, a Native of this Great Country, a Minority among Minorities... the outdoors is engrained in my soul. I'd like to share my personal credence with you... it goes like this: "I give no individual, group, organization, political party, foreign or domestic entity - no one, I give no one permission to politicize my Race, Ethnicity, gender, statement of faith, my social and economic beginnings or endeavors, and my physical health and well-being." What derives from basing my life on this credence is first and foremost, it allows me to extend the same credence towards my fellow human - i.e., Why should I politicize anything about the makeup of my fellow neighbor, their Race, values, belief system, personal history, etc. Second, it allows me to view the world around me objectively - i.e., just because some Native leader, political leader, any social or media outlet makes a statement does not influence my decisions or actions. Third, it "forces" me to ask the right questions whether its my personal state of being or any historical or present event. I'm reading comments left by Brian Rivers and Cameron Ater below.
