Hey Makgabo, thank you so much for this video. I have been stressing about this placement thing. I want to apply for Epik for 2024 Summer intake and i am busy with preparation of documents. I am also not a city girl, i love my me-time and i actually dont mind being placed in a rural area. However, the comments i have read about Jeollanam-do are so worrying. The inconvinience when it comes to public transport, accessing supermarkets, health care services etc, i think it will be too much for me even though i really want to come to South Korea. I wish to be placed in a town like yours...😢

I hope you don't mind me answering your question (I had my interview a few months ago 😊) If you are applying for EPIK, they will generally ask you the same questions that were in the online application form (why you want to teach, why Korea, teaching philosophy etc.) I was also asked to name 3 teaching styles (I learnt about in the TEFL course) and how I would use them in class. I was also asked how I will deal with cultural differences, and adapt to living in such a homogeneous country. Other potential questions include why you are leaving your current field (this is if you didn't do BEd), how you will deal with misbehaving students.

Hey lover, I know you said there is no control over where you're placed with Epik but is it possible to at least ask to be place in the same place as a friend or reletive that you're travelling with? Say maybe I'm moving to Korea with my sister would they allow placing us in 1 town at least? Thanks in advance.
