A lot of people seem to forget that applying the laws of reality makes bending reality so much easier. Want to use air magic to smother a fire without creating a vacuum? Just draw all the oxygen out of the space. Want to supercharge a fire spell? Use a spell that separates oxygen and hydrogen and keeps them contained in an area without mixing into H2O. Wiseman’s Grandson used this concept, and he was just using high school chemistry and theoretical principles from sci-fi like spatial folding. (At least, that’s what I think Shin’s portal spell was.) Imagine what an actual nuclear physicist could do with magic.

@@coltonwilliams4153 Kenja had a fun take on sciency magic, but I loved the way Mahouka’s über sci-fi magic works. The amount of detail put into even simple spell casting in that franchise is a joy to read and watch

As long as a certain witch doesnt grab you by your heart, just say the truth but if they don't believe, then don't care and invest your time into gaining power and position and then the big event comes, there you prove your point using your power. Somehow all the isekaid characters tend to be talented enough to make an impact on the parallel world.

Never tell that you are reincarnated. ‼️ In most anime‘s there is this golden rule where the protagonist never reveals his true identity. By the way, the Beginning After The End shows exactly why most of the protagonists follow this rule. He revealed his true identity in the Manhwa, which didn’t end well.

Honestly as a show this is not impressive All these episodes so far have been about stupid people in anime if this has a point in showing humanity's ignorance then better get to the point already instead of drawing it out so long.

It’s true that they shouldn’t give up that easily but we have to take in consideration of the different time period the story takes place. Even with all the magic in the world, there are still some gaps in their pharmaceutical knowledge. This new world didn’t even know the existence of microorganism such as Bacteria or Virus 🦠 Plus they reacted surprisingly when they were introduced to an old school Microscope 🔬 Farma used his knowledge from his previous life and apply it to the new world

Conversely, rather than answer his father, Farma proceeds to ignore him and keep going. That's more a sign that his actions cannot be justified, since he cannot/will not explain them.

Apparently in the light novel the father was in danger of being executed if he failed to save the queen, so he was probably trying to protect his son. It still doesn't make sense why he'd destroy the compound recipe, but it gives more clarity to his actions.

At this point Farma has no shadow, two holy marks on each arm and he can create substances as well as eliminate them, he didn't want his dad seeing him actually creating the medicine out of thin air.

I would say 80 percent of those notes would not make sense to his father. They have a very a rudimentary knowledge of medicine. Mainly eat/drink this will fix this, without knowing why it fix it. Also his notebook contains chemical compound written in functional group format. That's a relatively modern technique, so in the father eyes his son journal is just a butch of nonsense and drawings that has no evidence backing it up. Not only that, but his about to making something to give to the queen. Just because the queen say it's ok, doesn't mean it's actually ok. Because if the queen dies then, every noble person is going to want that's kid blood and the queen is dead and wouldn't be able to save him.

It's not a "fun fact". Everyone saw that so I'm not sure what point you're making.

i mean, do you check the shadows of everyone you see? do you look at peoples shadows in a store or your families shadows when they're moving? i highly doubt that you do, so why would they?

Normally people look at the face. And on this painful occasion they simply covered their eyes with shame when they felt the helplessness of not saving their majesty. Your criticism is simply a gimmick.

He let them lead the way because he became convinced the God of Medicine had gifted knowledge to Farma and after a moment where you miraculously survived you would likely change somewhat especially if you got granted a huge amount of knowledge and power by a God, add to that some assume including the Empress, that the God of Medicine has taken over his body after the lightning killed the original Farma.

First 3 and a half minutes of the first episode is pretty sad and depressing.

In science, especially in medicine, if you aren’t able to explain what or how something is without logic/reason then it’s rejected. So in the eyes of Farma’s father, what farma is making should be consider poison. There really isn’t room for speculation

Yes, it is. This logic is the founding principle of all drug and food safety ministries worldwide.

I mean, his logic was fair, it's medicine that didn't exist before so they dont know it's effects, never has been used before so again no idea what it will do in the human body and his son is unable to explain to him how he knows it will work so he has to assume it's poison until given satisfactory reason to believe it can do what they say it will. Farma manages to make him accept it because he convinces him it was knowledge granted to him by the God of Medicine and given the mark on him it added up as a satisfactory explaination.

you're putting words in his mouth. What he said was "If you cannot explain, it is poison." Which is a much more reasonable take.

Because most of the time experimental treatments fail the first time. Imagine how many mushrooms you’d die to to figure out which ones are ok to eat. May as well just not even try because it’s such a high risk

Scam artists prey on the vulnerable. And miracle treatments usually aren't a thing. In the rare cases where they are, they don't come out of nowhere but are the result of years of research. Having a nobody, a child at that, claim he can treat the most powerful person in the country where every single expert so far has failed is more than a little suspicious. So yeah, you need to look at it from a different perspective: In the eyes of Farma's father, one of the most accomplished doctors in the world at that time, this could not have possibly been a serious attempt to treat the empress. It was a child playing at medicine at best, or a scam or even assassination attempt at worst. And one thing the anime did not mention was that failure to treat the empress would have had severe consequences for their family, so his father had every reason to stop him. He couldn't exactly have known at the time that the child in question had turned into the freaking god of medicine after all.

Well, if there was someone saying they have miracle cure for an incurable illness, would you believe them, or would you be skeptical? The father's reaction here makes sense

@@nineflames2863 you make a fair point. My biggest problem is that he aggressively tries to destroy the medicine rather than actually investigate what he's doing. As you say, maybe he was trying to teach him a lesson not to play around with things beyond his understanding, but his reaction feels way over the top, like he's saying "i won't allow you to cure it" rather than "I won't allow you to make this mistake".

Isekai sell well

Part of me thinks most people wish they lived a different world rather than this one, a form of escapism. And imagine themselves in the shoes of these characters.

It's not a fad, it's a genre.

It's pretty simple as to why Isekais are so common. It's an evolution of the "amnesiac protagonist" trope. This way the protagonist still maintains their knowledge/character(if existant) and the _new_ aspects still need to be communicated to the audience. There is also built-in redemption themes to the genre as well. Someone does something bad in their past life and the new life gives them another chance to try again. Basically the Isekai genre has a lot of the foundation drawn for the writers and they only need to add _their_ additions.

You have that backwards. The U.S. Government sponsors real vaccines for COVID. Farma's Dad = All the idiots who refuse to take a known almost completely safe and mostly effective vaccine to help stop the spread of a dangerous pandemic.

@@Compucles Farma's dad is right in not instantly trusting his son to be an expert medicine maker. Taking medicine that hasn't been proven to work or tested in any way - especially if it was made by a novice - isn't a wise decision.

It's really good so far. A refreshing take on the isekai genre

Mmm kinda i think, the mc is op but he uses his knowledge with his power so he can make modern medicine in a medieval world, this anime isn't really about fights but about curing people so don't expect to see a lot of action.

The show has really good animation, solid character work, it doesn't seem to have an over-arching plot yet but it's only on episode 3. I dont see the series running for a long time but the execution is good. Reminds me of Dr. Stone a lot.

Luckily this isekai doesn’t have a harem tag at all, so it’s all good in my books 👌 also I’m a nerdy science kid so I see this anime as a plus since it addresses real world diseases

Well, a young boy just told a supposedly incurable patient - the empress on top of that - that he would cure her. If he succeeds, then it's all good, he is a blessed child, a miracle doctor, things like that. But if he unsurprisingly failed... Oh boy, things might have gotten really ugly for their entire family.

It's set essentially during the time of history where diseases were thought to travel and spread by 'miasmas' or 'airs' being produced by wasteful or sinful actions/people called "Miasma Theory of Medicine". This is also why bleedings happened the doctors thought the evil of the leeches would attract the evil people the miasma and have the leeches suck out the miasma. Obviously in retrospect this did more harm than good, but a lot of the stuff in the show is surprisingly historically accurate(discounting the literal magic of course) I mention this because your prepubescent son suddenly talks about a miracle cure to a disease thought to be incurable. The dad _would_ be upset at this, especially having made this promise to an Empress.

Demonic possession is an actual thing in this world, and his son suddenly started acting extremely out of character. Not only that, but failing to cure the empress would have had severe consequences for their family so of course he wouldn't just let a child play doctor there.

@@annatardlordofderps9181 They also take astrology seriously for medical matters, another archaic practice. However, while they may indeed practice it, they didn't actually show a bleeding treatment in this episode. As Pharma pointed out, his dad only took a drop of blood for a diagnostic purpose.

I weep for people like you, if your entertainment is solely based on its accuracy being 100%, there are no shows, movies, games, etc that get things 100% correct. you must have a pathetic and sad life never experiencing anything.
