Yup. Have been for about 15years?! 🤭 (The Malitose/daycare days when her girls were toddlers 💗) ... I have loved cube shelves ever since 😂 SO much so, that I also bought my niece her own Kallax (+Drona boxes) when I re-decorated her bedroom a few years back! My main one stores my records, plus our boardgames and puzzles, art&learning supplies (for my 6yr old), and has a couple of open "display" cubes. It's also the kitchen/living room divider in our tiny apartment 😎 They're just so freakin versatile!! I can't thank Cas enough for (rightly) raving about them 🥰

I live for the story at the end of each video, and this one did NOT disappoint!! I was literally dying of laughter throughout the entire video, but the story at the end took the cake! Clicked on here to “Borrow Motivation” because Cas always gives me motivation. I’m only 2 minutes in and I’m laughing hysterically at the puppy while Cas is cleaning the sofa. If you didn’t notice when you watched, go back and watch again. It’s so cute and funny 💜🤣

I'm living by your words of doing what you can, when you can. Yesterday, while waiting for something cooking in the microwave, I took a spray cleaner and wiped down my fridge a bit. It needed it!! Almost every day I manage to get a little something done to make my home less of a mess. It's nice to not feel so useless, as I've been used to feeling. Thank you!! ❤️

‘Neglected cleaning coming back to bite’ story - my oldest always wanted to have a birthday party at home, but Mommy wasn’t organized enough, so we had them at various party places around the city. When my youngest was 3, I decided to attempt the dreaded home birthday party for the eldest, and cleaned out the basement playroom (o.k., hid the crap in the utility room), and did what I thought was a thorough clean, concentrating on the basement because I thought that’s where they’d be. One Mom stayed, and followed me upstairs to the kitchen. I saw the look of horror on her face and followed her eyes up to the tops of the cupboards, where there was extra thick line of dust all the way along. I’m short - I hadn’t noticed it. She and her kids never visited my house again! 🤣

I actually had a book on how to speed clean your house and one of his biggest best ideas is bring in a bucket with your cleaning solution and your rags Never put your dirty rags back in the bucket when your rug is dirty use the new one when they’re all dirty can you bring them back to the kitchen and rinse them out that way your cleaning solution doesn’t get compromised and saves a lot of time actually

OMG I am crying and will soon pee my pants after that “early morning boob” story. Actually this whole video was brilliant. Still thinking the “fake-close-to-throwing-up” in the laundry room was actually not fake. And I will NEVER look at my ceiling lights again without thinking “titty lights”. 🤣🤣🤣. Very excellent spring cleaning vid. Actually the best I’ve ever watched. You didn’t mention baseboards once, for which I thank you. Or I missed it from laughing too much…

For base boards (especially molded/detailed ones) I use the upholstery brush head for the vacuum, then quickly run the mop over them when I mop the kitchen floor. Work smarter, not harder 😎

My Spring cleaning hack...have my over six foot tall husband clean all the lights and fans. I got into a habit of wiping down the inside of my refrigerator and stove once a week before I grocery shop and now I rarely do a deep clean.

I've never had a dog, but I grew up with and have always (until recently) owned a budgie. I can so relate to doing housework with budgie claws scrabbling on my scalp.

One time a babysitter decided to run my dishwasher. She used liquid dish soap. When I came home, I could see billows of suds floating through the backyards. She was in tear’s trying to swish them out the sliding glass door. I simply tossed in a slightly used wet Brillo pad closed the door and in a while, all the suds were gone. Easy fix to a panic situation.

re: cleaning above kitchen cabinets. One of my tricks for cleaning these is to put parchment paper down after I wipe everything down. The paper catches dust and grease, which makes for super easy cleanup next time.

Cleaning my light fixtures is about the only chore that my husband helps me do. He's taller and has long arms. No ladder! He takes the covers down while I wash them in soapy water, rinse and dry. He puts them back and brings me more. This cycle goes on for about an hour and the whole house is done. So much cleaner than spray and wipe.

@@lulul0l039 I learned (and implemented) a lot of Melissa&Chad "Clean My Space"s ideas about dividing up the chores. Eg. I detest washing dishes / hubby doesn't mind doing them = that's his main chore. VS He hates scrubbing the bathroom and I don't mind it = I do it. I do pretty much the rest of the chores (apart from his car and the terrapin) as I'm the primary parent and only work part-time. You're totally right about figuring out a fair division of labour according to circumstances. 😊

My favorite is that you take your bird out. So adorable seeing it on your head while you clean. I don’t understand people by birds and just keep them caged in. Especially since they were made to be free and fly. Thank you for this!!!! also, make sure you get your dryer maintained yearly. I clean my lint container after every dry. Even then a fire started due to the lint that accumulates inside the machine on the bottom. That’s what happened to me. It was so scary.😮

About the dishwasher and dish soap...once I left my 10 yr old son home with his older brother. They were supposed to clean up a little and do dishes. They couldn't find the dishwasher detergent so the younger one decided to use dawn dish soap. Yep, filled up the little dispenser. That dishwasher never worked again. I walked in the door and OH MY...!

I filled an extra large spray bottle with distilled water, so after I clean the refrigerator ice maker & water dispenser, and other appliances that contact food/drinking water, I can rinse things easily with sprays of distilled water so it removes the soap and doesn't leave water spots.

I clean my ice maker and water dispenser about once a month. I turn off the ice maker and open the door to clean it (or dump the ice out and start fresh) that way it doesn't come out. I use a warm cloth with a little vinegar and wipe it all down. I feed the cloth through the ice maker from the inside of the fridge to the outside. I'm grossed out every time I do it.

You need a bissel steam shot! You can use it in so many places and makes cleaning so much easier! Ice cube dispenser on the fridge, window sills, inside of the garbage can, bottom on toilet where it meets the floor etc.

Cas, I have found the perfect way to keep my water dispenser clean. Don't use it in the first place, use the Cold tap. You could also put a large jug of water in your fridge before you begin such cleaning tasks, and an hour before dinner. A couple of these hacks will ensure it remains pristine.

Oh my gosh I love this video. I love that you have the gross too. We had to buy a new dryer it was delivered last week Friday night I was catching up on laundry and some how a roll of toilet paper was in the bottom of the hamper and went the washer and the brand new dryer but I learned how to take apart the full lint area for future 😂😂😂

So.....doorbell rang in the middle of the night. Having no intention of answering it, I went to the front window to take a peak. An officer with good peripherals noticed me and shone his flashlight up at m, standing there in all my glory. He quickly dropped the light down and motioned for me to put on a robe and come to the door. Later overheard him telling his partner, "that's the one the came tot the window"... So really a boobs not that bad. Love ya, Cas! you make my day

Cas, do yourself a favour: put a small ticking clock in her crate, under her blanket. It sounds like a heartbeat, will help her to relax and sleep - and so you will get your rest, too!

A helpful (I think) thing I do...cause I hate cleaning as well.... Is put some newspaper on top of the fridge freezer and the top of your kitchen cupboards so they absorb the dust and grime. You still need to clean the area but it cuts down in the amount you have to clean. 😊

If I could empty my house of kids and spouse for a week I think I could make a huge difference. That way I could progress forward without mouths to feed, laundry being created, dishes piling, ppl to entertain and messes forming behind me. I could get to spring cleaning without interruption and daily chores that fill the day.

I've put a piece of cloth on top of my fridge. I use magnets to hold it on the sides. When it's time to clean, just wash the cloth in the laundry. No more gross top of the fridge!

This was 10x more inspiring that watching someone clean who makes it look easy. Watching you break the light, struggle with the ice maker and refrigerator, dealing with the smell of the washing machine filter and yet you're singing the whole time was all so real, yet fun it made me really want to get in and clean my own house. Unfortunately, it's still under a layer of clutter so I have to tackle that first, but you make it all more inspiring, Cas. And, the story at the end made me laugh out loud. Now you have to move. That's all there is to it. Oh, and seeing Penny biting your dustcloth and your parakeet tiara was precious!

This was an amazing list. At first it seemed so random, I didn’t think it would make a difference but it did. We are finally in spring here in Northern California. This was just what our home needed. Hey Cass, love the video. Quick tip on the cleaning of the trap in wash machine. Empty that little hose first! It will fill a little cup worth of stinky liquid without dripping all over the place. Then you unscrew the bigger filter. No mess. It’s amazing how there is so much gunk hiding in all appliance books and crannies! I will be joining the cleaning party soon!

I laughed so hard with this video - the gagging, the breaking the light, the eerie humming, the flinging yourself against the fridge to move it - we are too much alike, lol! As to the neighbor issue, consider it a sign that you should move. Or maybe they will 🤣. Mine have to see crack attack everytime a garden, which is honestly like, never.

In a fraternal organization that I am a member of, we had one of these mounted on a wall of our meeting room, just inside the door, and it was used to signal, from outside the room, when a new member was ready to be admitted into the meeting room. We always referred to it as the "booby light," but I had never heard of anyone refer to it by that name outside of that environment until now. LOL Love your puppy helper!

LOL to move the fridge it helps to have some rubber sole shoes on for traction. Also I line the top of the fridge and cabinets with wax paper. Cuts down on the goo on top. A quick wipe and change the paper. Away you go.

Well your neighbor was probably real thrilled at the show you put on early in the morning!! LOL That reminds me of the time you got locked out of your apartment while tossing the trash and had to walk naked through your neighbor's apt. and climb back through the balcony!!
