Man, I miss playing DQ11 so much! It took me by surprise with how absolutely amazing it was the whole way through. Really appreciate FF7R, even with all the story liberties, because it served as an introduction to the world, lore, and characters to Lady Laci.

I was very surprised with DQ11 as well. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it nearly as much as I have. Such wonderful characters and fun world to explore. That's the thing with FF7R. I'm glad I love it, but even if I didn't, it introduced many people to the world of Gaia, Midgar, and iconic characters of Cloud and the others. I'm grateful to remakes for that

Great choices. Loved FF7R but agree "remake" is the wrong word, not for the same reasons but because it's a different story by the end of it. Amusingly your little Atelier Ryza 2 clip at the start was from the exact area I'm playing whilst catching your vid!

Yeah FF7R is completely different from the original in terms of combat and story. Haha that's funny. I hope you enjoy Ryza 2 as that's my favourite in the Ryza trilogy of games

You are so right about Atlus releases having new content feeling tacked on, but with Persona 5 Royal it was natural. I could tell Marie was new to Persona 4 Golden without knowing anything about Persona 4 vanilla. They litterally called attention to the new content in Radiant Hisoria perfect chronology. There is a npc in the PSP version of Persona 2 Innocent Sin whose portrait is in the new Persona artstyle. The less said about Alex from Strange Journey Redux the better. The C team that made Tokyo Mirage Sessions # FE,Stange Journey Redux and Soul Hackers 2 isn't that talented frankly.

Yeah P5R did a great job introducing the new characters naturally. Those are great examples you listed of ones that for sure could of been added in better. Another one would be Rin from Catherine Full Body. I love the game as it's one of the most bizarre and unique fun puzzle games I played, but Rin was so forced into the story

Haha that's why it's my top 5. I love Like a Dragon, but missed the mark for me by a hair. If I included 10 games, I probably would have it at 6 or 7

I wish i had played DQ XI legit. Lost my save after upgrading my comp. I was in too far to buy it or pirate it again but not far enough where i felt satisfied.

Great list, i'm trying to get into a new RPG, and they have a boat load on the switch. Hard to decide but, your lists help.

The Switch is an RPG machine for sure! That's the thing with RPGs though is except for a few of them, you need to find the time to play through them
