I don't think of it as an obligation when I have to tip my hairdresser, I think about how she did a great job and was friendly and was patient & I tip her to try to show gratitude in a fitting and appropriate way. When i was in the hospital years ago; there were many mentally ill people who came from money. They preferred to live on the streets and didn't have to take much needed medications. Not saying that is the case for all of course. But MANY.

I grew up in Utah, but moved when I was 20 to Nevada over 20 years ago. I took a visit home last weekend and was shocked to see homeless tents all over in Cottonwood and Sugarhouse which used to be really nice parts. I told my husband when I grew up in Utah, you only saw homeless folks downtown near Temple Square and even that was pretty rare! But it’s rampant now. SLC is turning into LA. It’s sad.
