My Very First Time Setting Up A Tent! The North Face VE25!

I am completely new to the world of overnight trips and have only done a few in my life.. and those times I did go there was always someone else setting up the tent for us! Well not this time! Have a laugh while you watch me struggle with this North Face VE25 Mountaineering Tent! It took me about 25 min to figure it out! I’m determined to level up my outdoors skills, one step at a time.
Snow coming down from my house was much deeper and had a breakable crust early in the day before it froze solid overnight - so the snow shoes were initially necessary. And even though I only had like 5 inches under the tent I wanted to treat it the same as a backcountry scenario, doing all the steps. 😜 After packing it down with the snowshoes like I would in deeper conditions I realized I could puncture my precious tent and I took them off.
I know I didn’t finish setting up the guylines but it’s a start :)

Well that was entertaining. :) Wait till you set it up in high wind. A tip for you: attach the velcro inside the flysheet to the corresponding points on the inner tent and leave the inner tent doors open before you put your poles through their sleeves.

@alpineamanda9376 It looks hard, I have a small cheap tent. It so easy, but not a good tent like yours😁 I'm hoping to buy a better one soon. I used it by a lake two weeks ago. I'll take it out again soon. In a week or two by a different lake and swim there.

Looks like itd be a bear to do in the wind!... i dont like my tent, looking into a different one now... thinking either the msr frontrange or hilleberg allak2

Yes! This was hard to take down because of the wind lol. It almost had me airborne. I would only use this with multiple people in winter to split the weight and work. I really want to get a lightweight trekking-pole tent, something with a steeper pitch. Thanks for watching! 💗
