While everyone saying she sounds terrible...she sounds like she have lost a friend...a true friend. I think if you was in that position, you would not care how you sound, as long as you are honoring your friend. She did great under the circumstances of being emotional. Singers lose their voices being that way and for her to hit those notes like that shows she is talented and singing from her heart. UPDATE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ!!! Scrolling through here I was glad to see so many people giving Alicia support. She deserves all the credit in the world for even getting up there to do this. It was a beautiful tribute to a friend, a loved one. Not a friggin concert performance! I've been to many funerals. Could never do what she did here. And I'm sure Whitney would've been honored to hear the love poured out here. That's what really matters.

Kyle Holmes sometime as an adult when you get a lot of people making ignot comments we had to overlook them and realize that even though they are fully grown they have yet to grow up. We just pray for ignorant folks like that and ask God to lead they special self so they too can be a part of the grown up world. LOL anybody could clearly see that this young lady is singing from the heart she have lost her best friend and I think she did an outstanding job to hold up as far as she did. Anyone who could possibly find fault with this sublime and raw emotional tribute has probably never loved deeply enough to know the true pain of LOSS...The sheer tsunami of grief that is evident in Ms. Keys' powerful & poignant voice is a testament to the little-known kindnesses and maternal generosity that endeared Whitney to many of her peers......Whitney was so special to so many, and the tragedy of her lost talent will haunt many hearts for a very long time...

There already seems to be a lot of conversation about the "flaws" in her voice, but I must just say that this is what music is made for: the pouring out of the soul. This was a raw and powerful moment and if it brought any comfort to those mourning their loss, how dare ANYONE discuss its value if not to say that it was astounding!

In my opinion she has lost her voice. it's nothing compared to the voice she had when she first came out and for most of the 2000's. I was a big fan her's and i can tell there is a big difference. @akyrcs19, good voice or not Megan trainor has no soul neither does she have experienced the longevity as Alicia have, regardless if her voice isn't the same, this woman can do more than sing, she produces, writes, act , plays the instrument and has penned some of the best classics, she brought soul back to being mainstream, respect her! She is one of the few acts that remains true to her art , I'll take that over a pretty voice any other day . Can't wait for her new album

But i'm just saying alicia's voice is way different now and i'm just not a fan of it. Her voice is nothing now compared to it when she sang fallen. back then not many people can touch her. Not even a meghan trainer with soul. but now her voice has changed. she sounded a lot better before. to me anyway

Have you ever sang at the funeral house or church where your beloved one's funeral held? I did at my uncle's funeral. He asked me to sing for him at his funeral before he passed away. I could barely sing even though I was a professional singer at the funeral. I was crying while I was singing at that time. I think Alicia did a wonderful job. I bet she was so emotional while she was singing for Whitney there but she controlled her breathing so well and sang powerfully. Yes, She did indeed a good job.

God Blessed Alicia with a beautiful voice and strength to speak at the funeral and sing in midst of her sorrow, grief, hurt. Those that have lost a mother, dad, sibling, grandparent, friend, spouse, relative, child, a family member understand and can relate to grief. Most important is respecting those suffering from grief. The thought of NEVER seeing, hugging, speaking, touching someone dear to your heart is very very painful.

Whitney Houston was the bestest singer in all . She had always sung by heart. I really love her. She was an entire world in herself. A beautiful voice that can never ever be forgotten by the ones who have listened to her. She was really awesome. There can never ever be another Whitney Houston. She had a soulful voice. I really wish that if I had ever seen her performing live on stage. She was a role model for all of us. We will never get another Whitney Houston, she was the one and only.
