@@mylurebox yeah was raining for a couple of the days, at least it while the restrictions were on. Fine with rain in summer but in winter it just becomes miserable and cold.

Cheers mate! I’ve been quick to move on when the bigger models present emselves, so I’m keeping a keen eye out and asking locals if they know of any big crocs in the rivers I’m in… and yep, you’re right, my reels cop a hammering and a few need to be swapped out :)

@@mylurebox we are staying in Qld but hoping to head all the way to the cape. Next destination after we are done in Gladstone region is to travel as quick as possible to Douglas shire area and go from there.

Oh and yeah I managed to convince the wife and I brought the tinny.

Mate it’s a tough game especially in the SEQ area once that water temp drops out. The lakes still produce and I tend to run smaller lures in winter. Livies can be another alternative to get it done when all goes quiet and more punishing than regular Jack fishing

@@mylurebox cheers mate I definitely fish small in winter and cracked my first winter jack and my second ever jack just the other day so thanks for the advice will try a live bait

The old raiders are good if you can find them mate they were hand made in australia but these new ones are just mass produced shit.

Interesting to hear mate. I’ve loved the ones I’ve been running but I’m not 100% what make they are from now the Mass produced point has been brought up. I’ve got 3 Bass Raiders and happy as with how they perform. I’ll be checking em out next time I’m in the shops to see what’s different to those on the shelves now. I’ll be gutted if they’ve changed cause I’m a sucker for rods that I like. My other hardbody rods are 20years old now. Hahaaa.

@@mylurebox yeah don't get me wrong there not bad for the price but the old lure project raiders or soft plastic raiders were so ahead of there time and especially if ya can find some on gumtree for $50 there well worth it.
