An adventure fishing & exploring on the shores of the mysterious lake Chila just outside Mbala in the most northern part of Zambia.
Lake Chila is one of the little known lakes at the very southern tip of lake Tanganyika (one of the great rift valley lakes)
This was a fantastic day fishing , drinking an exploring around the shores of this mysterious African lake Chila.
Although we did not catch any fish it was really interesting and fun adventure while visiting Africa recently.
The mysteries surrounding lake Chila not only stem from ancient local folk law of strange an mysterious vortex currents said to have suddenly appeared and pulled anything on the lake into it never to be seen again.
This was also the site where at the end of WW1 a German commander surrendered to The British troops that occupied this part of northern Zambia and subsequently the British de-armed the Germans and dumped all the confiscated weapons and artillery in to lake Chila!!! Thanks to the recovery of some of these historical weapons by Zambian army doing some training missions some of these weapons can be now seen in the local MOTO MOTO Museum right there in Mbala itself..
This truly was a fantastic days fishing and adventuring around lake Chila and the mystery and history around this little known African rift valley lake was and still is very gripping and somehow strangely intimate in such a small out the way place.
GREAT TIMES, FRIENDS AND MEMORIES OF AFRICA 😂 Cheers.
Thanks for watching.
