1:31:50 the main reason that Seraph of the Suns was not worth seven mana in Amonkhet Limited (besides how dang aggressive the format was) is that -1/-1 counters were a major source of removal. So if you were up against black/green especially, it’d just get hit by a Decimator Beetle or something.

unless u start at a very low life total a good thing seems questionable - op only needs to survive 6 turns if u are at 20 - unless u fiddle with life total somehow of course or destroy it when u have 600 something

"people in Yugioh hate burn decks, people in magic are ok with it" Eh, people hate RDW too, they just respect that it's punishment for their own greed (unless it's S tier). But if by "burn" you actually mean D&T or Shops or Pox, then fair, it's just another deck. Unless you mean Lantern Control or Nexus/Teferi control.

More so with mystery boosters, but other sets in general too sometimes, I’ve come to realize that drafts with fresh packs do not contain enough mana fixing through lands. What I’ve thought to do, is similar to adding more, like in cube. 8 people draft is a total of 24 packs, so what I think I would like to try, to make the draft better is adding 1 of any two-color land cycle (10 gates for example), 4 evolving wilds, and 2 of each basic land, shuffling it up and adding a card to each pack, just so that there are at least 14 more non basic lands to draft at the table. Thoughts?

I think it’s unnecessary in most sets. Running 0 fixing, you can run a fairly consistent 2 color strategy, which is the baseline for your average draft deck. Non-land fixing adds a cost to trying to aggressively splash bombs. Additionally, there are plenty of sets that have graveyard/landfall strategies that evolving wilds would power up. I’m curious why you think sets don’t have enough fixing?

@@quinnbreit-nicholson454 So, I meant for it to read “other sets in general sometimes”. And for it to be me conveying a personal experience or want, and not so much a criticism of any or multiple sets. Sorry for miscommunicating that. In DMU, and Kaldheim for example, I was very happy with the common land cycle and the flexibility and often power those lands brought to the draft. Meaning you could have a third or sometimes 4th color if you really wanted it, regardless of bombs to play. In BRO, my favorite recent set, land fixing was not necessary at all because of having the artifact theme. So there I wouldn’t necessarily suggest doing as I suggested and adding land to the draft. Just having 1 more of each dual color tap land wouldn’t make that big of a splash at a 8 person draft, but it could be the difference between someone feeling forced to stay two color, and someone having the confidence to throw in a third color for fun. I should further stress that I am 100% a casual, as just having more freedom to choose is nice. Obviously they do the packs and land cycles the way they do for balance and to ensure the competitive fairness of a draft. I understand it. In mystery booster in particular though, being a massive chaos draft without any clear two color synergy in mind, I think it would be a nice addition to try out.
